Over Optimization Penalty Launched Today

on the plus side, a few of my under developed sites are doing well. I guess it's time to focus a little more on them and see what becomes of them.

so what is everyones thoughts? Do we wait it out for a few days and see
what happens, or do we keep building quality links and content as normal?

carry on as normal i'd say, either A. data refresh is not complete, or B. only whitehat sites were effected

It looks like there is no more need for seo. All sites of mine doesn't rank for a thing.Only few pages i haven't built any link to still gets few visitors per day. It seems to be just anchor text overoptimisation filter, it seems like this because of the sentence above, but also i have had similar problems before, when i changed the urls of the page in question, and made more de-optimised lik to the page, then problem was fixed, and the page was ranked again. But now the same page is gone which mean the problem is anchor-text-overoptimisation.

  1. Anchor Over-Optimization
  2. Spun content on web 2.0s (not sure about that - for some sites is seems it doesn't matter)
  3. My web 2.0 that point to my sites , spammed by scrapebox are now ranking on first page.

It is probably web 2.0 bum marketing time again.

Welcome to SEO nuclear war. If this trend holds, then negative SEO is back full time. Since Google doesn't care who done it, it will be easy to take down your competition.

Google is now too powerful and that my friends is not good for the internet.

I think this is random. There is no structure to who is affected

I think this is random. There is no OBVIOUS structure to who is affected

There is pattern. Sites that have no authority AND anchor overoptimisation AND higher keyword density.

Authority in this manner means, the site got other links that web 2.0 or comment links. Basically authority sites probably have most links from sites otherthan spam sources. All websites from seonuke are spam sources.

Actually it is very easy for google to find other sites that are spam source. These are sites that have 1000s of outbound links from their indexed pages. Such as a wiki sites, that have 10K indexed pages, all in different niches. So they basically looks like content farms.

Since these are easy to detect, Google probably has list of them, and it applies penalty on those sites that do not have other kinds of links than the links from the blacklist.

So the seo is probably dead. I would really like to be wrong.

wrong, i had a site with 80/100 authority according to semoz get smacked, but my lower authority sites did not

It's estimated that global e-commerce sales will reach $963 billion dollars next year. At a growth rate of approximately 19% per year, 2014 should be the trillion dollar mark. With Google dominating 67% of the search market, this gives them enormous control over an almost trillion dollar industry.

Instead of focusing on creating great content that won't rank (Google is ranking blank pages now) and building links, people should focus their attention on contacting US members of Congress and the Senate. Google has clearly grown too big and has too much power over the e-commerce world. Google should indeed be broken up.

Google's acquisitions over the years has further emboldened their footprint in the e-commerce world. Besides search, Google is able to bring their other acquired businesses into the fold and give them preference in search and to cross-promote their own properties. This shuts potential competitors out of the market and reduces consumer choice.

With Google's recently changed privacy policies, it is clear that Google intends on profiling its users across all of their properties. Armed with behavioral analytics and a dominate footprint in e-commerce, Google represents a threat to consumers, businesses and the future of digital commerce now and in the years ahead.

Americans should write their representatives and seek a breakup of Google. This would be more productive use of our time then trying to analyze why garbage is now ranking on the first page of many Google search results.

What I have said isn't 100% true for sure. But please try to contribute, and add your opinion what is the main cause. I do not care if i am right or wrong, i want to know what cause the google penalty.

Also as i described above, it is google negative filter(blacklist) authority. Google probably blacklisted web 2.0 sites. Seomoz still counts these sites, so 80/100 isn't real authority.

Whatever you've been smoking, I don't want any! LMAO...

As if the POS's in congress will do anything? Dude welcome to the new world....It's called a plutocracy. (go google it and get an education).

The short version is this: The big money rules. Doing "whatever" we can to manipulate them (a.k.a google and any of the other super rich corps or peeps) is EXACTLY what we should be doing. Of course I dont know about you, but I'd prefer to not go to jail so "whatever" means anything I can "legally" do.

Using and abusing google and whomever to get traffic is just one way to do that. If you insist on waiting for your congressperson to help you, I suggest you pack a big ass lunch!!!

Good luck,
Con

Can someone please explain to me what is completely "White Hat" SEO???

Post thousand of unique articles and let it rank itself and hope G will rank ur site on page 1 one day without any backlink?
Nice pure white hat but how long will it take? Yearss?

I think it is pure content and stupid hope it will somehow go through without a bit shady SEO in 99%. It will not. I was trying for it for years. (Even when sites done with full effort have value, that no one can imagine. I have an old gambling forum with 150 active members - betting professionals, 350 visitors/day and it is making 5-10K usd/month. But i really CARE for those people and it took years, yes).

I smoke only primo btw so thanks. :) And on another note, go fuck yourself. You probably can't write anyway and need Dragon Naturally Speaking for your posts. :D

I believe the regular guy who searches doesn't care and seems that they big company sites are OK, who is left to do the lobby? A handful of SEO guys, who, let's admit, are not so innocent, we all build links to get into serps and this means webspam, at least in their view.

Google is to powerful and bing sucks, but there is a way, if all people unite and and not click adwords ads, or use adwords for promoting it will harm google, or if people just click on adwords ads just to protest.
