Normally PR Toolbar updates happen every 3-4 months. There are some rumblings that it is going away.

Even though many of us know that PR is not the end all in getting rankings, we still often use it as a qualifying metric when going after backlinks. Thinking mozrank would become the new go to should that happen. Agree, disagree? Something better? What say you?

Larry was a good starting point. Don't be impatient, and you might as well utilized Cutts if you figure Moz isn't anything more than established.

the only people who probably use it are IM people google being awkward as usual

True story. Imagine the havoc on companies that sell links though as they sell them by PR and OBL.

The cool thing of this is actually this.

I started using authority only to base what I want links from... I found I could rank and get a ton of great links for pennies of what I used to pay. Think about it - A pr n/a (0) with an authority of 60 link is worth? you can buy them for cheap...

This is where it hurts the worse though -- Selling your site. A lot of people would buy a site if it had PR with Backlinks and age. Now if you were a 0 and moving to a potential 4 or 5... your stuck or having to convince people the PR should be higher but they haven't ran the PR update in forever.

PageRank looks nice, however the sooner it disappears, the sooner we can officially replace it with a new metric such as DomainAuthority from SEOmoz or something else. Usually these update regularly and give us a better metric or value than PageRank currently does.

I have heard that Google were considering dropping the PR updates if no one was actually using them, and as its only Internet marketers using the tool I wouldn't be surprised if Google dropped the metric.

People are slowly moving away from PR
Google of course are leaving it there just to cause confusion

The sooner you start working with Domain authority, the sooner you get ahead of he game

Great idea regarding the DA in lieu of PR! Right there in front of me and haven't utilized that. Thanks!
