So I've been trying to rank my website... Overall, it was not going to bad, with managing to get a few keywords on page 1... Anyways, I decided to order a pbn package from BHW, to get some the keywords trailing behind a bit off a boost.. some where ranked in the 20s(page 2) and then I had 1 keyword on page 4...

So I thought for sure this high TF was going to do some magic for me.. anyways the seller finished and delivered up 2 days ago...

I log into serpbook, and my keyword that's been on page 4 for ever, has now just dropped to 80th position!!!!

My other keywords are intact.. it's just this 1 keyword that's dropped hard..

I'm starting to worry because I've spent quite a few months doing SEO myself on this site, and even writing the content... this is very strange..

Please advise BHW, I'm not in a financial position to this site... it's the only place I'm really getting any new work from..

shit this really sucks man :(

It seems obvious that google saw through that PBN and still calm down it is not end of the world see which links you got from PBN for that keyword or relevant one's disvow them

It is normal to have a serp dance after you have built some powerful links. Wait for few more days and the other keywords as well fall from their positions and wait for around two weeks see whether they are back on business :D :D

I'm sure you brought this up to the provider so he could explain, right?

Odds are that it is merely a dance but you really should be speaking with the provider so he can take a look for you.

I created the thread, then the idea did come to me, to follow up with the seller. However, I really just wanted advise from other members. As he sold his sales thread to be high tf, powerful domains.. I was so sure it was going to give me the boost I needed. Just shocked that 1 keyword that has been on page 4 forever, has taken such a hard drop..

I don't know weather I should be panicking and getting onto the seller to remove all the other PBN posts before they do anymore damage.. or weather this is just a dance after building new links..

As I say, I'm not in a financial situation to loose this site, and would mean months of lost work for nothing..

The Google dance is a normal activity and this phenomenon occurs as per a patent filed by Google. You should not discontinue your link building pace, else Google may classify your links as spam links. Check the following post for a better explanation

Thanks man, going to take a read of that.

Just to confirm though.

This is very normal ? Probably a dance ?

Strangley, the keyword that dropped, was the keyword that had majority of the new pbn posts I just ordered.

So going from here, what do you guys recommend I do.

- Follow up with seller

- Wait a few days ? then see if it's still in this position, would you advise I ask the seller to remove posts?

If this is permanant, will this be only knowing after 2 weeks of waiting ?

Are you sure its the pbn seller and not any seo you done in the past few months.

But if you did not do any package the past few months. Could it be your keyword given to the pbn over density.

What you can do is change some of the exact match keyword to brand keyword.

Hit up the pbn owner and request change of link keyword. I save 1 of my site which drop badly in e past with such move and rank great now.

I had this happen to one of my sites. I believe it was too many links too quickly, with not enough keyword diversity. All the keywords tanked down from Page 2 to around Page 4-5. None really recovered. Gave up on the site.

The annoying thing was is that the PBN links were actually good quality, sites had OBN of about 20, the content was solid, and the PBN sites looked legit, but 50 posts in 10 days sends red flags I guess.

Links were delivered 2 days ago... it takes 2-3 weeks to see real results... In my opinion this is just google dance and there is no need to panic...

One other reason I was starting to worry, is that a few months back, I was reading an article on SEW, that mentioned they believe the new penguin update would be released in March of this year... really worrying about all this.

People where expecting the new penguin update just before Christmas 2015.. however, people where saying since Google did not release it just before Christmas, like they have done in the past, and ruined businesses financially, just before Christmas.. People where saying it was Googles way of saying "Merry Christmas" to those business owners.. The article then went onto say that they think it will be released in March...

SEO is such a head fuck!

Wait a couple of weeks and if no movements happen then u should be concerned..but u should get in contact with the seller right now. And plz keep this updated really curious what happens.

Most providers would be happy to take a look at your whole backlink profile for you and give you an idea as to what may be causing the issue or to be able to identify if it does appear to be a dance (which it sounds like to me).

It could be an anchor text thing as well as any number of other things but the PBN guy, I would bet, would be happy to help you out as you are a client of his.

You need to try the other legit methods to rank them back, start creating good links with high quality content.

You should also check your link profile. If you have too many links with keyword stuffed anchor text, it creates suspicion. In 2016, you should use naked URLs or branded keywords as your anchor text as much as possible. Check this article for more details

Give it a month or so, then get back here and let us know your rankings again.

Google's probably just playing with you. Strong PBN can do this to you.

When where the PBN links actually indexed?

If you were reasonable with your anchor text and didn't over-optimize it's just Ranking Documents algorithm.

Ranking Documents does just this...

You expect jump (and should have it) and receive drop instead. It's a mind game.

If you remove the links now you're totally done.

That will be clear confirmation to Google that you are naughty (aka control the links).

Other thing is PBN quality and vendor himself being in trouble of course...

It's probably just the dance man. Maybe ask the service provider if he has any suggestions.
