Open Your Mind, Noobs! Choose your path :\

Good read. Just pushed me to put out an ad on odesk, I think I've reached that point of outsourcing!

There are 3 main reasons people dont make money:
1. Don't have the skills they need and they are not willing to learn those skills either
2. They are lazy.
3. They don't truly want to make a lot of money / they have a mental block / etc.

Is that simple.

I don't agree with your second part in first statement:

1. Don't have the skills they need and they are not willing to learn those skills either

I believe we - newbies - know that lack of skills is our main problem. That's why we're hanging in the forums like BHW or elsewhere. But not willing to learn those skills are a problem of few of newbies.

I bet that the main problem is how to obtain the right information and how to learn the proper skills. Meaning, even here in BHW forum is so many miss-leading info and incorrect description of skills that I, as a newbie, am not able to ration because of deficiency of knowledge.

I woke up and read this, it gave me much motivation to continue my work. Thanks, dude :)

Thanks for your perspective on noobs. I suffer from some of this as well.

Good post, good food for thought. I was considering CPA just to bring in some quick cash, not trying to replace my "day job" with it obviously but just to get the "feel" for it. I have several ideas that I need to nail down, not exactly sure which direction I want to go yet. I've been online for years but took several years off and things have changed a lot in the nearly 10 years since I've been away. feebay is for corporations now not individual sellers. Online stores selling hard items, tools, books etc... are also more positioned to the big players, there are lots that do this as a personal business but I like the idea of selling information or providing a service better... just have to nail down exactly what I want to start with. "Indecision clouds my vision."

This was a good post though, started me thinking in maybe a new direction. Thanks for the share!!

Great post Madruga. You forgot to add one small point in your thread.

GET OFF THAT FUCKING FACEBOOK DOING NOTHING AND START WORKING :D

This post was incredibly relevant to my current mindset, especially #1 and #4. Thanks brosef.

What I said is based on my personal experience. Most people as you say think SEO is a skill and try to become skilled at SEO. SEO is NOT a skill but what you do using a bunch of actual skills. Web development, coding, graphic design, copywriting, usability optimization, split testing - those are skills. SEO is not a skill. SEO is like building bridges - to build a bridge you need to have skills like metalworking, architecture, constructions, seismic analysis, etc. Those are skills. Building bridges is not a skill.

Most people think they have to learn SEO and learning to code, web development, design, algorithms, etc. would be a waste of time. When you have skills, you have a solid foundation t help you with problem solving.

Most people want a push-button seo software or a seo service to do the SEO for them. That is not being a SEO specialist. Same way I could say I am an astronaut and hire astronauts to go on the Moon for me and if they make it there say that is the same like I was there since I "bought" them. There's nothing wrong with software or services as long as you do it while you know how to do it manually and that is specifically what you need to scale your business. Using a software or service because you have no clue what or how to do SEO is actually a bad approach.

I don't agree with your second part in first statement:

1. Don't have the skills they need and they are not willing to learn those skills either

Now, on this ride there's gonna be some real mutha-fuckas
and there's gonna be some pussys
Now the real niggas gonna be the ones with money and bitches
The pussys are gonna be the niggas on the floor bleedin'
Now everybody keep your eyes on the prize cause the ride get tricky
See you got some niggas on your side
That say they're your friends
But in real life they your enemies
And then you got some mutha-fuckas that say they your enemies
But in real life they eyes is on your money
See the enemies will say they true
But in real life those niggas will be the snitches
Its a dirty game y'all
Y'all got ta be careful about who you fuck with and who you don't fuck with
Cause the shit get wild y'all
Keep your mind on your riches, Baby
Keep your mind on your riches

@2pac hehehe after reading that post it came to my head

Great motivational post just what I needed to read. If I could only stay focused and quit getting sidetracked by every new idea I read, I'll be good.

A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts

Thanks for the share man, this is one of those spiritually helpful things that adds motivation.

I completely agree with the OP concerning the JV scams! I have been scammed during a JV, so I know!
