I was wondering if anyone knows about online banks that simply don't care about who they give an account to. For instance, with greendot i set up several bank accounts for high school students so they could get a start on ebay and paypal. I used their own SSNs that were obviously under 18 and it worked just fine. On the other hand, this does not work with ally bank.

I was wondering if anyone knows of online banks that are as dumb as greendot with their SSN checking but are free like ally, because i think its very dumb to have to pay your bank.

thanks guys, and Long Live BHW!

I'll start the list for you guys:

Greendot.

There, now we have a good head start

Metabank is pretty easy... you need your actual SSN but they accept anyone.

As to costs, I have no idea though.

Ya,

You can't get a bank account without a SSN anymore.

Greendot is easily faked. You can use the SSN of a minor, a dead guy, etc. I think i found the key. Your invalid SSN will get denied when they do a credit check. So, greendot boasting its "no credit-check" policy, obviously does not do this and therefore never invalidates the SSN. Ally bank turned the SSN i provided down on insufficient credit (that person had no credit). So, if my theory is correct, any bank that does not do a credit check should not deny you.

One other thing, does anybody know if this is legitimate: htt*p://www.secret-info.c*om

or about any other places where you can buy that kind of info (SSN #s mostly)?

I`d also be interested in setting up accounts in soem way as the funds can not be traced. I remember reading articles about banks allowing undocumented aliens in the U.S. to set up accounts but.. don't know how they are doing it.

Obviously undocumented workers do not have social security numbers.

Take a look at exchangezone, not exactly banks, but you might get some ideas.
Also take a look at my sig.

Online banks needs real information with authentication and they provide better services as I know; but be careful there may be some fake banks. you will get the proofs from the review and websites.

I saw this posted by someone else in either this forum or another if you want to verify paypal accounts or any other for that matter:

Requirements:
- Computer
- Internet
- An Unverified PayPal

Guide:
1) Go to E*TRADE.

2) Click on "OPEN AN ACCOUNT".

3) Click "APPLY NOW" on "E*TRADE Complete Investment Account".

4) Now you will need to fill in info. DO NOT put in your real info. Use Fake Name Generator (IMPORTANT: Get an identity from the US)! Also use an email that you can access. For the "Account Type", pick "Individual account".

5) For "Step 1: Choose Account Type", pick "Cash Account Only".

6) Put in the fake address and phone number that you got from Fake Name Generator, and make sure that both of the boxes unchecked!

7) Now you will need a Social Security number. As usual, DO NOT put in your real info. Use Fake Name Generator. Make sure it is in the state of where your fake address is. Also make sure you put your "Country of Legal Residence" as "United States" and click "US citizen".

8 ) For your "Employment Status" just make up jobs. Make sure it is in the same city, state, zip, and country. DO NOT make the address of your Employer the same as where your "home" address is. Pick "No" for all the options.

9) For "Additional Account Preferences", put in what I say. Put in "Income" for "Investment Objectives:". Put in "Excellent" for "Investment Experience:". Pick the first option for all the drop-down boxes and pick "No" for the selection.

10) Now for "Sweep accounts", pick the first one and pick "No" for the rest.

11) Make sure that all the boxes are unchecked on "Select Documents for Electronic Delivery".

12) Click I Accept and DO NOT check the box.

13) Now pick "No. I want to create a new user ID and password for this account.".

14) Make an account that you can remember.

15) Now login to your account. Your account number should be in the middle of the page.

16) Now go to the "Add a Bank account" page in PayPal.

17) For routing number, put in: 056073573.

18 ) For account number, put in: your account number.

19) Now go to the next page and enter your login info.

20) Pick the Instant option on the page and wait a few mins.

21) Congratulations! Your PayPal is verified!

does that process for using e*trade actually work? does anyone know? that seems very easy. I though fake names generator just made up random numbers...

Fake Name Generator actually generates an address, phone and SSN based on known streets, zip codes, area code and prefix, and ID no sequences consistent for that state or country. Some verifying software only checks the general compatibility of the info for the area it is supposed to be coming from, while other scripts verify against an actual database.

E-trade and Greendot may do the former, Paypal may use the latter method. But, if Greendot confirms a virtual SSN via its prepaid card or moneypak process, does Paypal accept that SSN as well? Interesting question, anybody know? There is a site called vccandbank that also claims to verify Paypal accounts through 'virtual SSNs.' Anybody know if that's for real?

thats interesting, i would agree with your hypothesis. It seems that a validity check is only done when there is a credit check.

Update: I have just followed the etrade method above on an unverified account, and found that (as of 5/24/11) it does verify the PP instantly via VBA---BUT, PP immediately limited the account. It asked for changed passwords, security questions, and to 'confirm location' (via submitting a card, followed by a you inputing a code when they call your number). It may be PP is on to the the etrade trick, or too many people have tried it lately.
