One Version of my site not showing

    I had a quick question in using my google webmaster tools I have a site where the site http://xyz.com is showing and getting a lot of traffic and the other http://www.xyz.com is not showing and says no traffic why is this and how do I correct this thanks.

    I assume you have both host names verified in GSC. I also assume that they have been verified long enough to have data. For brand new websites it can take google a little while to collect data simply because there isn't data to collect. For old sites that were recently verified I have seen it take a week or two for Google to collect data. Usually it only takes 2-5 days though.

    So given all those assumptions it sounds like you have xyz.com set as the preferred domain and if that is how it is linked everywhere on and off the site then there wouldn't be much or any traffic to www.xyz.com.

    Check your preferred domain settings and look at how the site is linked in navigation, sitemaps, canonicals, and externally. If no one finds the www then the www shouldn't have much traffic.

    PS... this effect is how you test a domain migration... while you see traffic with referring URLs on the non-preferred host you still have changes that need to be made out in production.
