Recently many people are targeting all the KGR and google autosuggestion keywords which makes me think that most of these long tail keywords will be competitive in the coming years and unlike now later on only On-page SEO will not work even it is long ass tail

any thoughts?

An increase in competition does not mean something is not viable.
It just means it takes a little more effort to get the job

On-page is the foundation how do you expect to rank for keywords without proper on-page?

Are you going to start building links directly lol
Did you read the last line where i mentioned only on page because sites with zero backlinks are getting tons of traffic this way.i am assuming this wont be the case in the following years

I would go even further than this - increase in competition is a great sign. It means that many people think that this is a lucrative niche, which is definitely a sign that you need to enter the niche.

Obviously on-page SEO works, that's a real weird thing to say. What's not working is probably the fact that your competitors are doing it better. The way you put it makes me think, what else do you do than keywords? There is much that can be done with On-Page. Will structured data be obsolete? WIll accessibility be obsolete? Will pagespeed be obsolete? Will UX, engagement, bounce rate etc be obsolete as all of those depend on on-page? Probably not.

This long-tail or short kws or whatever is a (slowly) dying practice anyway. While Google still relies some on specific keywords, I think this will be eventually going away as their NLP models are becoming better and better understanding user intent and site content on a deep level.

exactly. technical SEO will play crucial role i guess

By definition, long tail is meant to be almost infinite.

Like we still every year we keep finding new niche short tails keywords, talking about scarcity of longtail keywords is like talking of scarcity of planets in the Universe...

100% of the prophecies about SEO have failed. There is a popular thought believing that SEO is like Kodak's photography, that is about to be deprecated at some point (and paradoxically now we have a huge very profitable relatively new niche of instant analog cams). 4 years ago I perma-read in the forums that PBN were about to die in 1 or 2 years (And they were barely starting)

Use what you got now, and move when it's not useful any more. This is the nature of human duties. SEO is about execution and big numbers, not about planning and perfectionism.

SEO is best field in online earn

This is true for some niches, but for niches that are evolving there is always a place to get if you are fast enough

If you think onpage seo doesn't work try this man. Just setup html site with a domain and add long few images for the site without add any content (wordy) and also don't even add ALT tags to that images. and try to rank it without backlink. You will understand what's the true meaning of onpage seo. and of course do not optimize site speed, do not optimize images. and try to rank.

btw...
SEO and SMO are best part of internet marking

Well, but that's not any news to anyone I believe. Keyword stuffing days are long gone. Technical SEO has played important role for a very long time already. So it's really just the content that is changing - from keywords to intent targeting. This does not mean LSI keywords, or keywords themselves are going away, just how SEOs should approach them. For LSI keywords, more focus will be on the intent and topicality of rest of the content. This does not mean LSI keywords will be obsolete by any means as they are an excellent source for niche experts to understand the intent of users as well as an easy source for Googlebot to get a clue about the main topics or general topicality of the content.

So let's say that the market share of LSI keywords is going down within metrics that Google collects for content. I don't think this will affect flags that affect technical, backlinks etc.

yes,, :) did you know me. take care please

Free keyword research tools only allow you to view XXX amounts of relevant keywords, starting with the most searched, unless you pay.

So, technically you are right, but practically you are wrong.

The original is always better than any imitation.
