I am very sorry for the over exciting title. But its not a clickbait! Its a genuine question!

I have installed a nulled plugin on my website. Later I read that this is not safe for my website. So if I uninstall the plugin am I safe again? Or am I screwed immortally :D

Thanks in advance.

You guys and your nulled (ripping off developers) always make me wonder what in the world are you thinking.

It all depends whether the nulled plugin is 'infected' with a malware. If you got it from a random website without checking the source, you are most likely screwed.

Yes, turn everything off.
Go around your house ten times.
Jump 20 times repeating "I won't download the nulled plugins anymore".
Do 10 push-ups.
Take a shower.
Turn everything back on and you're done.
I am stuck on the second step. I am living in an apartment. Help!

Upload the zip file to vírus total. It can usually detect backdoor

I read once an interesting article about how once u get an infected plugin it will start to spread all over your website.

@Ankith K Shetty I would restore your website to a safe backup or just dump the website, neither your hosting is safe and dont put Mr Robot as your profile photo if u feel smart enough for using nulled plugins.

Come near my private island, you can swim around 10 times in exchange.

@Ankith K Shetty - You learn from your own mistakes better than any lessons, we all been there one time at least; delete, scan, clean, move on.

One guy who is really trying to help. Thanks bud. So I delete theme. Then Scan what? Can you please reply. Thanks

No you may not be safe simply from uninstalling it. Many of the nulled plugins and themes have hidden backdoors.

Uninstall the nulled plugin and run a malware scan with sucuri or Wordfence.

Another way to do this is by installing a saved backup of your site. Install an old backup before you installed that plugin and you are good to go.

Next time don't install a nulled plugin?

What I don’t understand is if nulled themes are so dangerous, why encourage it in BHW. Why isn’t that on your rules bud? Logic?

Virus Total won't be able to detect anything from compressed (zip/rar) files.
Yes it can. ZIP it should scan without any problems. I uploaded a plugin and it flagged as backdoor. give it a try. the system will unpack and check. Only exception is password protected file. But like any antivirus, it will only detect known threats.

Thanks bud. I appreciate it. No I won’t for sure.

Not my rules and not sure I have ever seen a staff member or the forum encourage it.
