Ok, let me tell you the situation.

I'm 19 and I came back to my apartment with my Skateboard and I was walking through the carpark. This guy pulled in with his BMW, hopped out the car and said I'm the building manager and I'm issuing you a instant $100 fine. I then went on to say do you have any proof you are the building manager and where does it say no skateboarding? Even though I wasn't skating.

He then grabbed my apartment key off me to see what apartment I was in and then took my fuckin picture with his cellphone. At that point I was shocked and kept saying I'm not paying any fuckin fine. He said get out of here or I'm calling the police and I said you're the only one stopping me from going out fuck off.

I got straight on the laptop and looked up the Terms of Agreement I had signed. It said nothing about skateboarding or anything. I then seeked some advice and called up the police to issue a formal complaint that he assaulted me by grabbing the key from me. The police then said they will go around to his house and question him.

Anyone else have a situation like this? Where it's an older person trying to show off? Keep in mind I was carrying my board. And he never told me his name or showed me any ID to show he was the building manager.

I guarantee you that wouldn't have happened if I was 25.

Don't worry about it man, he has nothing on you. Although in your terms its is probably stated that you cannot vandalize anything.
Now I know you didn't and if shit gets real you'll probably walk away victorious but if I can give you one single advise:

Don't let it get to legal a issue. Because you'll loose regardless whether you win.
You'll loose money paying legal fees and you'll loose sleep over it and you'll loose your valuable time.

Technically, and this depends on the state, but taking someones keys can be considered false imprisonment and/or kidnapping. This is the type of shit that I wouldn't deal with.

I'da trucked his ass to the ground and then called the cops on the spot and told them he attacked you out of nowhere and you reacted out of fear.

You may also wish to look into the fair housing laws in your city, or contact the housing authority (if there is one) and tell them what happened. Your tenant rights may have been violated if he is indeed the property manager or an agent of theirs.

Definitely bullshit, dude.

Hmmm. I remember "trucking" a few well deserving guards in my day... Feel pretty bad about it now... They Always turn in their steps and go the opposite direction from me now. Probably for the best since those rent a pigs still cost me issues. I'd still show the them the difference between the front and rear tension on a nice set of indy's!!!

You shouldn't have even let him grab your key or take your picture especially if you weren't doin anything wrong. If he can't even show you ID of who he is, then you really don't know if he was for real or just some asshole trying to give you problems.

You did the right thing by callin the cops and filing it, but I woulda got a few licks on him first and say you felt threatened because he grabbed you.

You did the right thing calling the cops. But make sure you DON'T DROP IT. Also perhaps write to your building company, explain the situation, and ask if he was indeed a representative of the company.

I would have thrown myself into his BMW and say he did it! Instant settlement from Insurance company for $10,000 and put a down payment on owning an apartment in another building.

You guys are acting in a way that most young men would. Which isn't the best way. Look I'm 58 years old and have been exactly where you are. Believe it or not I WAS once your age !

First off COOL DOWN. Angry minds don't think logically. The first step should be to go and talk to the landlord. Tell them the situation that went down in the car park. GIVE them info on the guy that was harassing you.

Sometimes other tenents in the building are just ass holes. Management WILL do something about the problem if it appears to be driving GOOD ones off ! Basic business ownership/management.

What ever you do don't get loud/show your ass !

Act as a mature individual and you will come out fine.

Next time....

at the first sign of aggression.... call the cops.... tell them a guy is threatening you
he is driving a BMW ..license plates.... tell them you feel you are in danger...
make sure the BMW guy hears what you are saying...

that will start a paper trail on your behalf....

that will scare the crap out of anybody BSing that they are the manager....

Do not start shit with him..... you could BOTH end up with assault charges....
and you don't need the stress of court crap.....
