I will rather help the millions suffering in Hiati.
Why help someone that is allready making money, live in a house, have social secutity, have safety net to fall on, rather help a poor, suffering person from a third world country with nothing to eat and no roof over his head.

FYI... Harro, The supermod of this forum, took the time to make a thread to donate to Haiti... But the difference is we know and respect Olden... Why did your family give you food and shelter when there were people starving in Africa?... same reason, they were taking care of their own first.. Stop being a hypocritical troll or gtfo....

My prayers for dear Olden.

Sorry folks, although I sincerely wish to send some funds for him, I really can't at this moment.

Can we do something for similar unfortunate situations:
Like:

We can have a separate section (working like VIP section) and where our members 'donate' real money making ideas to be used for our friends who are in similar situations? Those ideas can be analyzed and put to use by capable teams of members (who are more experienced in getting results), put up workable CPA projects, or create good ebooks or whatever and sell them to our members or on other forums, and do many such things that will create money on autopilot so that it can be used in such cases?

The new section can be accessed like VIP section. People can send in ideas to the moderators of that section through PM, and he in turn can send them to a selected team that analyzes them and then on to other teams for planning and execution. (Sure, we all have enough time for such a cause, however busy we are otherwise.) That will make the product creation process hidden from all prying eyes. This will work on Trust. We all will have trust in those teams, don't we? We will have lots of solutions in quick time, and those would be purely donated for a noble cause so there won't be petty problems over them.

Just one great idea can be lifesaving, and we would have hundreds of those ideas in almost no time if we work collectively.

Any similar thoughts for a noble cause?

Who says you have to choose?

Why not help the people in Haiti and someone sick in the hospital in need?

I guess it's your choice ultimately, buy why be so narrow-minded?

I don't know Oldenstylehats but I know what it's like to be sick & be put behind the 8ball financially by an insurance company ... so count me in. And will include him in my prayers.

Insurance companies are real d*$%s with that "pre existing condition" garbage and will do anything/everything to get out of paying a claim that is going to go over the amount the actuaries say it should cost. When Oldenstylehats recovers, he might want to talk with an attorney about his legal options.

@Doctor: you're making assumptions about Oldenstylehats' finances in order to justify your decision to not contribute to his cause. If he was financially fat & liquid, I don't think he would be contemplating selling his house to cover his medical expenses and HaRRo wouldn't have started this thread.

hate what im about to say if you like, but, hiati will get all the help it needs from govt and corps around the world, olden wont, call me biased since im a close friend of oldens but read some of oldens posts and the tools he's provided for the community and think about it for a minute, if not for him youd probably be making less from the content you read on this site

we arent saying dont donate to hiati, we're just saying one of our own is down on his luck thanks to the us health system being retarded and we're trying to make things somewhat easier for him so he has less stress and problems when he's recovering from everything, stress is evil when your sick and if we can unload some of that... easier and better recovery and hopefully a smile on his face when he reads this thread and see's the donations he's received

we support our community and our staff and do what we can for those in need, staff around here arent some faceless evil people, we are all real people with real problems and a real life... anyway, my 2c and ill leave it at that

We are so lucky here in the UK where we get free health care (ok paid by taxes) when will guys across the pond realize medical care should be for everyone. I know how it feels to have a love one seriously sick I care for my wife every day and have done so for 6 years.

I used to be in the insurance industry it's shameful tell Oldenstyle that if he wasn't aware of the previous condition they will have to pay out as the policies say aware or should have been reasonably aware.

If he was aware he is pretty much screwed my thoughts go out to him and his family.

Maybe some of his friends should create a product and sell it on DP or something that would raise more than donations.

Wish I could donate but my prayers go out to him!

Would it be a good idea to suggest buying his products to help him ? It implies that he could activate his softwares. Buying it would help him and greatly ease donation compared to simply sending money.
If you disagree / think it is a bad idea, feel free to delete this post. Otherwise confirm it could be useful for him.

But I do know Oldenstylehats has been a great part of BHW and I hope he recovers fully soon.
