Old Technique, anyone still doing this?

Ages ago I would find a fresh domain I liked, send a crapload of links to it using the various tools, add in a fair amount of legt links (those tools generally provide fodder for a pig trough but help some) and after they ruminated some I would then register the domain.

It was quite effective back when I was still sucking my thumb and drinking out of a baby bottle and have not done that sort of thing in a while and was wondering if anyone is playing with that strategy, even with a twist.

Once in a while the domain would get registered by another before I pulled was able to do so but that was like 10/15% so I just considered that part of my cost of goods.

Interesting one, dint use ever but in past I used to spam GoDaddy auctioned domains with links from my penalized non indexed domains and porn anchor texts. Ahrefs and other crawlers were fast enough to pick those links.
Managed to get many good domains with low prices. Good old days.
