Hello everyone,

I hope all is well.

I’ve been in the OnlyFans management space for a few months now. Up until now, I’ve mostly been working with models I brought on through the traditional route of cold DMing.

Since I’ve started, I've seen talk about “model marketplaces.” I've read few posts on Reddit and couple on here too and from what I’ve read, most people say they’re a bad idea, filled with low-quality or inactive models, or even scams. At the same time, these marketplaces have been around for a while and people are still using them, so I’m wondering: are they really that bad? Or are there situations where they can actually be worth it?
I haven’t tried them yet, but I’m curious before I make a move. Has anyone here bought models from a marketplace? If so:
  • What was your experience like?
  • Did you actually land reliable models, or was it mostly a waste?
  • Are there any marketplaces that are more legit than others?
  • What should I be aware of and what questions do I need to ask the seller?
Not looking for anyone to advertise or self-promote, just want to hear some honest feedback from those who have actually tested this method compared to cold outreach.

Appreciate any insights :)

Marketplaces like that can be hit or miss. You’ll find some real models, but also a lot of inactive profiles or sketchy stuff. Best way is to vet hard, maybe test with a small collab first, and don’t rely on it as your only source. Cold outreach takes longer but usually brings better quality in the long run.

Thanks for replying, I think I will try a smaller "transaction first".

I suggest hire a person to do outreach thru social media to get model for hire. Buying from marketplace such a gambling. Some are good but most are bad and lazy work model

Cold DMing still gives the best quality because you see who’s responsive first-hand.

I'd say it's kinda random. I bought like 3 models and got refund for them because they were impossible to work with tbh. but rn I'm working with model from Marketplace and everything is good so far. Benefits are that they are already aware of what they need to do and it's way easier with MP but you can get in bad position where the model is lazy and with attitude and you already payed for her like 700.

Some tips:
- always use a MiddleMan to buy model. If seller refuses it then 99% it's a scam.
- ask the seller as many questions as you want until you are certain about this girl.
- ask about her English level, attitude, how responsive she is, refund terms (just in case), whether she wants access to account or not, if she's okay with long-term work and about raises in terms of salary.

Hey thanks for the response and I will take your advice. Yes, I have asked other people and they all said similar things. On that note, are there any main questions I should be asking to frisk the seller and any specific deals breakers.

In my experience, all the OF marketplaces are a hit or miss. Most of the times the models are lazy or there is a certain catch you don't see at the beginning and that's why they end up on the marketplaces in the first place. If they were great to work with and profitable they probably would not end up on the marketplaces :P

Which marketplace are you using to source the models?

In my experience, marketplaces for leads (not models—you’re buying a lead, not a person) are a rabbit hole. You often end up with models who have no idea what they're doing, lack experience, are lazy, didn’t work out with other agencies, or were recruited by marketers just looking to sell a lead without even explaining that their contact details were sold. You might stumble upon a gem now and then, but it’s mostly by chance. Even though a lot of these marketplaces have refund policies, you’ll likely have to drop thousands to find the right model for your needs and then wait weeks to get the rest of your money back. Traditional methods are still the best way to go.
