Offline Marketing A/B Split Testing Results - Website Redesign - 7878 Method/Twist

Never under value your service and expertise. You know how to do something that they don't. You're a specialist and should be compensated as such.

Don't be so hard pressed to get the sale to the point where you rip yourself off. Higher prices reflect your knowledge, skills, and worth.

There should only ever be two reasons why you severely reduce your fees:

1) The business owner can do the exact same job you can themselves and just doesn't have the time to do it themselves (this would rarely, if ever, happen... and even if it did, I still wouldn't severely discount my fees)

2) The client you are targeting has a very large circle of influence that could lead to more business. This is not the same as providing a deep discount because "you never know when they will call you with a larger job." Far from it! What a waste of your valuable time & knowledge.

The money you spend (in the form of a discount) must return far more money to you to be worth the discount. The best way to make that happen is to only give deep discounts to people who can refer a lot of business your way!

The less you charge, the harder you must work to make the same amount of money as someone who charges more! You also hurt the reputation of our industry by planting the idea in their head that our knowledge isn't specialized. Your ridiculously low ball prices scream this to your client without you having to say it yourself!

Remember! They don't know how to do what you do and/or don't have the means to do it themselves. Reason #2 is the only reason (in reality) that should ever lead you to give drastic discounts.

PS - You may be wondering why I sent you a key. That key symbolizes the key that you should have been giving to a new homeowner today, but due to an under performing website they did business with your competitor. Let me help you hand out more keys!

Love this^ I can't remember where I saw it, but some saleswoman was sending letters with golf balls and adding P.S. I booked a time at a golf course. I included some golf balls in case you didn't have the balls to play with me. Pretty sure it was on this forum somewhere. It's a pretty cool way of slapping someone across the face and really throwing them off guard.

That treu i know they havily Market but the people there is know body that doesnt know Lambos. When i was 6 i knew them. And yes the Market Mcdonaks, Burger King, KFC everybody heavily Market but they do it on a comleet different level.

im also looking on a few sites see promo items under $1 , worth it? makes the envelope lumpy plus the item has your logo/url on it.

Give it a shot. Test different things. That's what it is all about.

We just did a mailer with something so off the wall....but it has been CRUSHING it. I may start a thread with the details...it has worked AMAZING over the past few weeks.

would love to hear the details of this new twist haha.

I'll post the details in a new thread with some images...it is something that can be duplicated - will cost a little $$$...but the response is INSANE

I'm beat....crashing. Hope it helps or gives you some ideas! Let me know if you have any questions.

If someone wanted to scale this up to say 1,000 - 5,000 direct mail letters per week - could you maybe assume most sites don't have FB social media icons, email list signup, etc. and could you list these all as areas to "fix"

this way you dont need to customize each letter with the exact site issues, but more of a generic outline?

If you do that then they just look like every other generic email/mailer the business gets week after week - and they will go to the trash just like the others.

You need to give them specific reasons to call you.

If you are looking for mass mailings these won't work for you.
