Official BHW Skype Groups

Great to see that some of the unofficial skype group threads are closing, as they took people away from BHW ...

... but since the Official BHW IRC channel was closed, how about a few official skype groups that were moderated?

I hate skype but some people do enjoy it, will BHW consider it?

You could have 2 groups, one for regular members and one for JrVIP and above.

Not something that I am interested in personally but some members might want it.

I close them as I come across them as they are typically dead after a bit, take the members out of the forum when they initially start and are such a free balling opportunity to sell without the seller being vetted by a Marketplace Mod.

As to some official BHW Skype groups I think we would need either a bigger boat or more Mods to oversee them.

I'm not saying they are good or bad, @Asif WILSON Khan, I'm just saying that the moderation might be a tough deal at this point in time.

Not my cup of tea.. from my experience of large BHW Skype groups (although not official) they tend to get hectic and crowded.. it was always hard for me to keep up with what was going on in them. They also eventually end up descending into tittie pics and ego stroking..

IRC or some other form of actual chat room software would be better IMO.. easier to read on the eyes and much more room to customise with scripts, filters and bans etc
 
The Forum is big enough for everybody......... fuck your Skype or whatever
 
My problem with Skype groups is that I feel previously banned members use them as an opportunity to scam other members.

Even if one of the moderators managed the group, the whole idea sounds messy. For example, would we have each member who joins the group PM us to verify their identity (there go our inboxes)? Which moderator would manage the group? How many members would we let into the group (as @t0mmy said, they can get hectic and crowded)?

I think a good temporary option would be to encourage members to start group conversations for now. If something goes wrong there, anyone can easily report the message and we'll take care of it.
 
what about a live chat channel for members? something like team speak
where members can drop in, chat and actually talk to people/mods ect

Nice work there @Zwielicht , taking BHW to a new level.
Maybe Admins, in future, should set a rule to block/put on hold opened threads titled Skype group or so.
 
I think the whole point of BHW is to encourage conversation on the forum.

Taking it out of BHW kind of defeats the purpose of BHW.

If members want to connect out of BHW then cool. Go do it, but it's not something we shot encourage in my opinion.

Also, I've joined a handful of these groups to see what happens. You end up with the same 6 people in a group of 70 members talking, and they just end up sharing rap videos and other bullshit with each other. It has nothing to do with IM.
 
Have a 1 skype group would be a stupid thing

Have them separated, dropshipping, Instagram, seo, etc etc

OR there can just be skype groups made by members here.

IRC, or Slack will be better than SKYPE, I noticed many problems in skype lately, ....but for me, I encourage that we stay and communicate inside BHW, and not outside, maybe adding some features in BHW about that will be good...

Or worse, one will send drunk messages while another member in the group will start sharing Minecraft videos.
 
Does anyone think about Skype Notifications ? :)

Imao! If me or any member on Skype group is away for an hour or day - then they will get to receive 100 to 1000 message notification. At first it might be Interesting, but not suits for long run to be true.
 
I have said it before and I will say it again. I think BHW should get an official Slack channel as replacement for IRC.
