Update : Step 5 & 6 are now completed.
Step 1 : COMPLETED Purchase domain & Content (27 June)
Step 2 : COMPLETED Meeting with Niche Website Builders to discuss content / site planning (4th July)
Step 3 : COMPLETED Receive keywords from Niche Website Builders
Step 4 : COMPLETED Me to approve keywords found
Step 5 : COMPLETED Get the content written + Site build
Step 6 : COMPLETED Me to approve content written + site build
Step 7 : Wait for site to get some traffic
Step 8 : Add ezoic ads + Amazon links
Step 9 : Report here on traffic + Earnings
The site and content was handed over to me 2 weeks before the deadline. I was very impressed with the look of the site, they used the astra theme and created a custom logo for me.
The content is also very good. I ordered the 100,000 word package, they produced 47 posts with a total of 110,030 words.
They also created a about us and contact us pages. Basically created a complete website for me.
I also applied for adsense and got approved. So am very happy with everything that has been supplied.
Around 50% of the articles are indexed. I will start to report on the traffic from next month.

What's the average search volume of those keywords?
And how long each post is? average?

Aged Expired/Auction Domains are hit or miss.
I have seen some people building niche sites with these kinds of domains.
But your content needs to age too.
So for me this Time Seo Travel trick is not worth and too risky.
I'd rather buy some sites already making $100-$250/month to begin with...
But maybe you know someething i dont.

This is a valid point, but I think there's one crucial aspect that it doesn't take into consideration:
Potential.
Sure you can buy a site making a guaranteed $200 or so per month for what OP spent on the domain + content, but in order to usurp that amount, it's going to take considerable work and additional expenses. Alternatively, what if the power of the aged domain along with the 100K words of content end up making $1-2k per month for example once everything has time to settle and start ranking? Now his ROI is much greater for the same amount of capital invested.

Buying websites that are already earning isn't that easy either... First of all, you will find many scams on all platforms selling websites in this price range.
Secondly, if there is a good offer in this price range ($5K-$10K), you have to act quickly, otherwise someone else grabs the domain. And when you have to act quickly, it means you cannot do your "due diligence properly", and may buy a domain that actually has some hidden issues to it, which you will discover just later on--exactly this happened to me for example.
What's more, you cannot really choose the niche--at least not exactly, or a website with a certain structure and number of articles. You just have to buy what's available...
IN OPs project, he has much more control over the entire process, niche, content, structure of the website, etc.
What I try to say here is that while you have a point, and for the same money he could have bought an asset that is already earning something, such a model also has its weaknesses when compared to what he has already done.

Yes aged domains are hit and miss, thats why I went with odys so I can hopefully get a good domain. Agree about buying a site, I actually purchased a site on flippa recently so will be interested to see what both sites are like in a years time.
Good point, I have also bought a site earning $250 a month so we will see in a years time which site is making more.
The site is currently receiving around 1 visit a day from search engines

no earning yet, I have got google adsense approved for this site, but i have not placed ads on it yet. I am awaiting to get traffic to the site before placing ads
I plan to post traffic updates every month starting November

So I was hoping to have around 100-200 visitors a day from this site by now, but as you can see in the screenshot this site has not taken off.
I was hoping to not touch this site but I have decided its time to spend a bit of time in to this site to help it get traffic. So I have decided to do the following
Post at least 20 articles on the same topic which will increase my topical authority.
All articled will target easy to rank keywords with search volume of 10-100
Hopefully this will help kick start this site.
I will post another update when I have one

I'm sorry to hear the website has not taken off. What do you suspect could be the problem? I've thought about getting aged domains from odys but it seems that the age and backlinks profile had no advantage for you? At least initially, hopefully your site will take off soon.
Could the domain be bad? Or was the keywords too competitive? I would make sure to add more content and see what happens in the coming months, 47 articles is not a lot.
You should have a look around and see what could be wrong. Maybe your site got hit by one of the updates in mid 2022? And that's the reason why it never got the ball rolling?

Yes, I would have expected it to have taken of by now. 5 months is not a small amount of time. Maybe you're still in some kind of sandbox ? This is a little bit scary given the price of the domain. Did you add your domain too gsc to see if there was any penalties on it ?

I feel a few things can be the issue.
1 - expired / aged domains are not as powerful as they once were
2 - no or little topical authority (I think this is the main reason)
3 - content targeting keywords that are to competitive
I believe the domain is ok, has good backlinks and was used as a wordpress blog before

I think its in some sort of sandbox, there are no penalties and the pages are indexed in google.
I think to kick of this site it needs articles to bring in traffic, this is why I am writing around 20 articles targeting low traffic + comp keywords.
I am currently looking for an expert in this field to write content for me. I have today hired 2 people, am looking forward to see the content they produce. I will keep you updated how it goes.
