Not a single person has reported back if this actually works or not?
It's 2015, - don't most sites have systems setup to verify authenticity from things like this?

Actually, it's 2016. Most people have no motive to keep posting what's working for them, so people should be thankful the OP and others posted the method and its tweaks at all. The thread is three years old, and most of the reports confirming it works date back to the first three months, or first 9 pages of the thread (see some posts on page 7, for example). Lots of workarounds were also mentioned, so the basic method is sound, and it can be tweaked, just like most other older money making threads.
 
I'm also an amazon affiliate. Doing these since 2010 but difference is I'm following another way.
However, Already I found an informative way. I'll try to follow these these method. Please keep update.
By the way, what about your investment?

I just started doing this in 2016 and it works, and I did it the hard way. I posted ads, and responded to each one manually with the Amazon link. I never thought to include the plain URL or the URL embedded in the photo though. I'm going to create a blogger page and implement those ideas now to see how well it works.

are there any free guides on how to create an amazon affiliate website? it looks like a great idea but I have no idea on how to create an amazon affiliate website
