I'm based in the UK where online classifieds haven't yet caught on as much as in the States, but I'm hoping that with the UK being a few years behind I'll have some luck

I honestly wish people would stop posting classified ad methods. Classifieds are a big waste of time. I've been doing nothing else but classifieds for the past few months and it's a real headache. One day all your ads stick. Great. Next day, nothing will stick no matter how many different IPs you use.. how many times you clear your cookies.. and change the wording etc etc they just will not stick.

Sounds like you're talking mostly about human edited and/or report-happy classifieds like Craigslist. The battle is not just against filters, but against folks who review manually, and report anything that smacks of spam. It's a problem, but hardly one that is equally intense across all the top classified sites. Spend more time with the sites or site categories that are less strict.
Just because classifieds may not be the most efficient marketing method (depending on how one goes about it) doesn't mean they aren't effective. Do the 'classifieds don't work, they take everything down!' folks ever talk to the 'Youtube doesn't work, they take everything down!' folks? Both are clearly working for some people.

I have like 25 ads but only get couple or so visits to my page, don't know what I am doing wrong.

Any luck with your twist?
I just got a little site (cheaper-uk) and am giving it a go. I will try a different method every month, and just keep changing it around until something works. I will let you know when I find something that works.
