Guys

I have been around this forum for a while but I wanted to ask this question because my site has been acting strangely of late. It is holding on very stubbornly to its place in the SERP's.

If a backlink gets indexed today, will the SERP change occur immediately or is there a delay before the rankings change? - Just for the sake of the question, assume that the backlink is not worthless and is of good quality.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Depend where you get the backlink from.
If it's really good, trusted and frequently updated,
you'll see result almost immediately within minutes.

google algorithm is unpredictable. Only google knows it. Thats my opinion personally.

But based on my experience it doesnt affect rankings right away.

Ok, I guess my site is on some sort of hold then. I got two PR6 backlinks from a homepage and it did not move one bit and it has been about 4 days.

I have also been getting several other good quality links to no effect. Maybe Google Algorithm has figured that my site should not be credited for these for some reason.

You should also consider your sites PR and domain age. Or check your sites performance it google webmasters tool.

I agree with ultimategamechain. Only google really knows. You can't expect something in SEO to work instantly.
