NOOBS - Do your research!

what is AC?

an airconditioner unit you moron.........

yes MSN is a dark place. lol

the search feature ain't Google but it's somewhat useful

every forum will always have noobs that ask shit that's been answered infinity times....forums just wouldnt be the same without them lol

i agree. nice addition there scottb. that would be a cool function to have maybe. it would definitely weed out the people that are ready and aren't ready to be active in the BHW.

Guys i agree with you on the issue that some dont use the seach button before asking questions, but there are people who come as noobs but have sharp minds such that they get better and better as they learn from here as well. BTW great suggestions all round.

the point of this thread is to not bash the noobs. the point is that this is a more advanced forum, so if you're not ready for it, than go warm up by doing your research and then coming in here and participate rather than asking such basic things like "what is AC"

i also agree that there are alot of noobs that come in here that have sharp minds. but there are also a lot that don't. i think an addition of a newbie forum will not only help them but all the other advanced users as well.

justthinking - i never said i was an expert. but thanks for implying that i am. shows how much you know.:thefinger

If you could read, I implied that anybody with less than a years experience is not an expert. (including you and me) Not in internet marketing or anything else for that matter. Get off your high horse. You were a noob not long ago.

i was never on a "high horse". i was never implying or trying to make myself sound better. i was just making people aware that they should be doing their research before making request/asking questions.

and i think that a forum for beginners only will make a good addition to the forum for everyone involved.

I understand your complaint. My problem is that we all started off as noobs. We didn't know how to do certain things, so we asked. At this forum, the search function sucks because we all try to hide everything we do. It is hard to find almost anything. Improve the search function and I believe it will get much better.

Honestly, most of us are beginners on this forum. When does somebody become experienced? When they buy their way into JR Vip? I could easily do that but have decided not to go that route. I will get it naturally.

yeah i see nothing wrong with asking questions, or stupid things their will always be new people to ask things they dont know. they may also apply things that they do know

I think what the problem is for a lot of new guys is, any posts they put on the forum gets filled with stupid replies telling them to do a search.

If people are so talented in black hat, why are they hanging around getting stuck up noobs who seem to be dominating this forum?

Have you ever really tried to use the search feature on this site? It is without a doubt the worst one I have ever used. It will give results that have nothing to do with anything you are searching for. You have to read 100 threads to find one that is relevant.

I agree. It seems the search feature isn't targeted enough. Even the advanced search feature doesn't pinpoint searches very well.

I've noticed that the search features picks up any post that has your query in the title or in the post itself. The search comes back with any words in any order, which is really frustrating when searching for something.

Totally agree, some of the subject lines for posts look like the cat fell asleep on the keyboard. :D It shows a lot of people are not really thinking clearly when they want to say something. They just throw any old rubbish out there and hope someone says something decent back.

I think you can be a NOOB without sounding like a moron.

Garbage in Garbage out. Its not the technology its the humans.

Sometimes there even are too many topics for one theme, so you have to search through the threads you found...

1. I think the easiest way would be to just ignore those noob questions like "what is clickbank?" When they see that no one views and answers this kind of questions they'll stop asking eventually.

2. Regarding the argument at what time someone becomes an expert. You can't put a real time line on it. For instance, if someone educates him/herself in the topic 'adwords' and then starts practicing it 24/7 for 6-8 months, he/she is an expert on this topic in my opinion. Having said that....

3. Please don't forget that we are all noobs in certain areas of IM. No one is an expert on EVERYTHING! For instance, you might be very good at email marketing and CPA but have no clue about ewhoring. Etc.

It would be nice if people did do a little research before posting stupid questions / comments. However this is the internet and the whole basis of being a noob is leaving stupid questions and being generally noobish.

The noobs that post pointless comments before looking for an answer will not be reading this post so will not benefit from it.

Don't forget how few people actually read stickies that clearly shout "READ THIS BEFORE POSTING".

I also agree with what people have said about dont forget we have all been there and have all posted pointless comments.... don't say you haven't because we all have

I think there are different levels of NOOB.

Theres, "i am a moron NOOB who can't speak properly"... and theres

"I don't really understand this business NOOB, but i am going to develop my knowledge through reading everything in a structured way, only asking questions were i cannot find the information elsewhere.

Before i ask, i'm going to read some of the other posts so i get feel for the level of conversation.

Unfortunately this approach fails where everyone is talking like morons. Raise the game and everyone else tends to raise their game.

Unfortunately I'd have to agree that the search tool is very POOR... I'm not complaining or whining as I have usually found most of the things I was looking for, but it really takes a lot of SEARCHING in the SEARCH results... which usually show up 50 pages of threads, with about 99% of them having nothing to do with what you searched for.

Normally I run headlong into noob bashing arguments as we all started there once, but think I will add something to the argument instead of just bitching.

Get all the most frequently asked questions, methods etc and stick a wiki up for blackhatworld - bet no other BH site has one of those!!

Of course, not world writable but to a select few mods etc here and away you go - hopefully noobs will read that first, go 'aaaahhhhh thats what it means', or 'aaaaaaaaaaaaah thats how that method works' and won't post a 'What is....' thread.

Yeah, maybe a bit more work, but will pay off in the long run - less crappy questions and posts, a more noob friendly (who may develop inot the next guru ;)) forum and a wiki that other BH sites would be jealous of.

Just my 2p ;)
