Noob restrictions! Minimum Posts to Open New Thread

In my opinion there should also be a limit on who can view the download section. Lot of newbies register here only to get access to download section.
May be some minimum post count before they can view the download section. (like CS forum). Or may be make them pay a small amount if the newbies want immediate access to download section or else wait till they get they reach the minimum post count.
If they spam to increase post count you can ban their ass.

I've noticed a few threads where the op has voted their own thread 5stars. I see a thread with five stars, open it and all that is there is one stupid ass post with no "thanks" for the op so it's only them that would've put it there. I know it would be too hard to implemen but a system where a mod can disable you're posting, pm's and from viewing links ranging from a few hours to a few weeks would make posters think twice

I disagree with this, this is not a good idea, because sometimes even regular members used to open crappy threads. Further i saw some newbies shared some ebooks from DP(may be it was also crap, but they atleast tried to contribute)

I completely disagree here...

"Newbie" does not necessarily equal "idiot".

There are some newbies who have a tremendous amount to contribute and offer... I think that moderators should be given freer license to delete dumb/unnecessary posts.

Think the post is dumb? Simply report it, and after a certain number of reports (say, two), the moderator can review and delete.

EVERYONE starts out as a newbie... and, I'm so sorry to say, some of the veteran posters here are not exactly Shakespeare (sorry, sorry, no offense meant...). Just because someone has 80 posts under his belt doesn't necessarily mean that they'll NEVER make the "thanks dude" post. Bad or poor judgment is not exclusive to those with a certain number of posts.

I think everyone is basically good, and the best way to encourage growth and learning is to give a little bit of leeway. Have a little faith in the fact that those who are attracted to BHW are smarter than average, will definitely gain tremendously from the posts here, and will in turn want to give back to this community.

Also, newbies are a great resource! Ever read instructions from an advanced blackhatter? They are usually written for other advanced blackhatters. Newbies understand other newbies, and can give a tremendous amount of advice and encouragement to others in the same situation.

Bottom line is more restrictions need to be put in place, whether that is penalizing the noobs regardless of how much they have to offer in the beginning, getting more mods, or higher powers to the current moderators.

All the noobs will end up posting one word replies all over the place similar to "Thanks!" or "I will try this method". Besides, if they are slightly smarter they can post them 15 posts within a few minutes without adding any value to BHW community and yet staying under the radar.

Worse than that, they will just ask their stupid questions in unrelated threads and kill 2 birds with one stone.

I think you shouldn't be allowed to post at all until you have ten posts. The problem would take care of itself.

You have a point in controlling people from starting new threads with questions that are simple or have already been answered.

But the the problem will not be solved by having restrictions on who can and can't start a new thread - you can't just stop all of them from starting new threads just because some of them start unwanted threads.

The fact that a good amount of these guys (and gals) come up with new and creative ideas and methods and share motivating experiences is WAY more important to the forum than a few (ok - more than a few) silly threads.

In my opinion, having such restrictions will severely limit the power of expression and freedom that the new members need which I think is the entire point of a "discussion board"

I would like to make suggestion if I may. Make moderators follow newbies posts, just roughly. If they see posts full of crap - limit them. This is also a good test for new moderators.

I like the idea of a sub-forum, Give them a place to ask questions without getting flamed.

Teach them how to use the search function, the search function works better than most people think...they just don't use the "Advanced Search"

Put stickies up for basic questions and links to training courses in the download section that will get them up to speed (LOL, force them to go through all the Stompernet disks)

I just had a funny thought This will be real interesting when someone experienced gets banned and comes back under a new name......they will have to go through kindergarten all over again! Then again, they can help answer questions in the sub forum to get there post count up enough to get out of the kiddie pool.

This should also cut down on the spammers who Hit-and-Run this place on a regular basis, you know, the 1 post wonders who have this great moneymaker, just send them a PM, kind of thing.

I am a newbie, or so my status says. I have a couple of things I would like to say about this.

1. I agree with the dumb questions that have been asked a thousand times. I honestly think anyone that starts a new thread relating anything to "how do I make x amount of many in x days" should just have the hammer dropped on them, I honestly do not believe they have the drive to do anything with this forum or internet marketing, and furthermore I don't know how they found this forum(JK).

2. I also think it should be more of a requirement that people posting threads should be able to speak or write english. I can't stand reading a good thread about an idea and then trying to read some broken english that I can not understand at all.

3. There should also be a number of days required before you can start a new thread, unless you are offering software or something of that nature. I have seen threads by newbies, that are not really newbies that are offering something valuable to the community.

4. I love BHW and really think that people should respect the help that you can receive here for FREE and not fuck it up by starting a thread with "I am a lazy mother fucker that does not want to read, so if you could tell me how to make money step by step that would be great and I would not have the descency to thank you for it and probably won't even try it because I am so fucking lazy.

For the women of bhw which I just recently learned there were so many, I apologize for my foul language, I have had a few drinks and it flows freely.

BHW Rocks quit fucking it up, I vote YES!!!

If I recall correctly, You had some Very valuable posts you contributed before you could post links. So that would have been less than 15 posts.

I think it would be great if we had a test that every noob had to take before they were allowed to post. For instance in the downloads section we could have a question like this:

I'm tired of retards with zero post counts posting REQ's with unwrapped links in the download section.

Not sure what my ranking is on this forum. I am here pretty much every day. I don;t have the time to read every bodies thread here. They all started to sound the same so here's my vote.

How bout you guys who are soooooo Awesome that can't take the time to help noobs with a questions. Why don't you all start you own forum and call it NO NOOBS ALLOWED.
Let's ee how successful your new forum will be come. You guys are the awesome ones. so I am sure that you all you will come up with a solution to help your members who might be thinking of asking a questions that has already been asked.

Ok, so I am a little upset about why folks are picking on one thing. That's what makes this forum so awesome you can say what you want.

How about we banned folks who have to use curse word on every post they make and put curse words on their screen names and sigs. Why stop there. What the heck, lets ban the folsk who just say stuff to say stuff. Like "yeah those guys are rip offs". and provide no backing.

Heck we could go all night on banning folks making more requirements. Let's just make our own "our crap don't stink" and we don't have the time to help folks because we are making Sooooo much money forum.

Just remember what makes this forum so awesome. Also, for any of you who live in condos and really dislike those condo commandos. The subject of this is how they started....

Hey we can make another forum called "The thread commandos", we know what's best for the forum and you can only post what we want to see.....

That's just my 2 cents.

I feel strongly against this idea.. I understand the concept and actually like the idea of some how limiting repetative/redundant posts but this is not the correct solution... It would be unfair to not let someone post just because they are new here, plus how would they get their post count up if they cannot post?? haha.. you can only say so much in the introduce / general section before you go crazy
