Hi,
I would like to get my ad displayed at the top of the google search results.

The ads that are displayed just before/above the organic results.

Are these adwords ads?

Im intending to target very specific niches so that my CPC will be as low as possible.

In fact I intend to target niches with 0% adwords competetion.

Can anyone explain how to get my ad displayed there?

thanks.

Yes, there are Adwords Ads. Adwords Ads appear at the top and to the right hand side of search results within the Google.

Adwords is a very complex system once you get into it, find out the basics and then have a go - but be warned; KEEP YOUR CPC VERY LOW TO START!

Amazing,

And is anyone seeing the same PPC results as we once did with Google? My results have been dropping every month for past two years, so before you spend you money on PPC as a newbie, do more research before wasting your money, most click on non PPC ads these days which they know they can trust, at least that is what I do now which explains why PPC revenues are sinking like a brick.

I have been focusing on recession proof high value high demand offers and find much better results than trying to compete with hundreds of thousands of others using PPC which had driven up prices to new highs as more newbies jump into industry as unemployment keeps rising and recession gets worse, more are looking for internet based income opportunities, so be careful, so your research.

Success to all,

There is no better advice than to know exactly what you are doing when it comes to Adwords. It seems so easy when you have that free $100 voucher because there is no quality score and so on. But once you start paying out of pocket the entire game changes...I wasted more money than I care to say before I figured that one out.

Better watch yourself Nano...this copy and paste crap you're pulling is going to get out the ban hammer!

One of the biggest things you can do to increase your Adwords performance is to make sure that the landing page (page where people that click your ad will land) is optimized to convert your paid traffic. By convert, I mean have a clear call-to-action to what you want your site visitors to ultimately do. For example, if you want visitors to fill out a quote request form...have the form on the landing page as opposed to just having them land on your home page and hope they find their way to the form. At the very least have a prominent graphic that "says request a free quote" or something on the landing page. For an ecommerce site, land them on the most relevant category or products.

Next, make sure you install the conversion tracking script on your website, so you know how much it is costing you per conversion. In the above example, it would be useful to know how much it is costing for a completed quote form. Then you can further analyze how many quotes it takes to result in a deal and what you cost to acquire a customer using Adwords. If you are not tracking this information, it is very easy to spend more to acquire customers than you will make in profit.

Your Ad wont come up with the search results until your CPC is fair enough for that :). It would just be circulated in the content network, if your cpc is low! Content network means, as Adsense ads in people's website :)

So, as long as you dont have a fair budget, you cant imagine your ad being displayed on sponsered results slots :)

Actually, this is completely wrong. I get 1 cent clicks as first ad in search results for certain keywords. The only thing that matters is Quality Score. If your quality score is low, either your ad will not be displayed or it will cost you a lot more money. Also Content network has nothing to do with search results..

Doesnt happen always mate! You can get your ad on top, with 1Cent bid for long tail keywords or keywords with low competition!!

It isnt possible as long as the Keyword has a high CPC bid among other advertisers! And, I know content network has nothing to do with search results, and what I said is, with low bids on high competition keywords, ads will be just running on Content network, and wont be coming in the search results!

Hope I cleared it again! Anyways, I dont say I am the perfect! Always open to corrections!

Once again, Quality score is a key factor here. I've had multiple clients bidding for the same keyword, one client was paying 15 cent per click and was number 1, my other client was paying 0,80 cent per click and he was number 3.
It's all about the Quality Score. Optimise your landingpage/ad/keywords and if you get a 10/10 Quality Score, it'll be cheap and you'll be on top, if your competitors have a lower quality score.

On a sidenote about quality score: if you're trying to rank for an SEO company and you're bidding on keywords like "Google Analytics", "Google Adwords", etc... Google screws you by dropping your quality score to 2-3 even with a perfectly optimised landingpage, it's frustrating..
