Noob Profile links question.

Hi,

I've been doing forum profile links and I notice that a lot of the profile pages need to be logged in to view. Can Google still see these links or are they completely useless?

One more question. So far I notice only ExpressionEngine allows you to view profiles without having to log in. What other platforms are like this?
