Nofollow really works?

I know the topic is discussed tons of time. But in the last few months I did something, and now I am confused af. So anyone tried building only nofollow links to a new domain and see how it goes? I will post some results later; I need to be sure.

The topic would have already discussed but still, this topic is quite interesting because of no follow links but trying to create no follow links for a new domain?

That I never try. I don't thin no follow links for a new domain will really help to boost a domain.
 
Will it help? Not in the way you would think, no. But odes it help? Yes.

The reason is because you need a good mix of both do follow and no follow links. In order to look and actually have a natural looking backlink profile. So each no follow link is not helping directly, but they still matter and help in the long run.

Plus, if they are links from big sites I would be more worried about the potential of the referral traffic not the SEO value as much.
 
Well, we all know about this mix of links. Just want to know if anyone had a done recent testing and got some results.

It does work.

I tested this years ago a while after nofollow was introduced. Brand new domain.

I hand made about 20 blog comments in government sites. All real comments, about the content, not spam.

A couple weeks later it was ranking for the name I used in the comment fields.

Yeah i am thinking about doing the same thing, becuase i was testing it and i can say nofollow does help.
 
Good thread. Would assume nofollow would be safer from Google penalties? Or no?

nofollow is part of the internet html rules for browsers to be used online so it got to work.

do follow and no follow need to be use equally .

it a meta tag rule .
 
i think do follow backlinks have good authority rather then no follow

Also disavowing links is like making them nofollow. So one of my experiments years ago was to disavow every single link, using mostly wildcards. It worked too, site ranked after a while.

There's a lot more going into rankings today. Mostly user behavior. Chrome is tracking people so precisely, they know exactly what people like or don't like.
 
Definitely helps, not even less than ******** in some cases. I've tested it at the end of 2017, and the results were saying that nofollow backlinks from niche related websites and topics are as beneficial as ******** ones from mediocre sites. If you dig into the history of nofollow meta tag, you'll see that it was created to stop spammy techniques. With this in mind, I reckon Google considers nofollow like a tool to keep link equity on your site, but it definitely takes nofollow links into attention in some way from the acceptor side.
 
No follow works I tested it myself and works best when mixed into the overall link profile of a site.
 
I have a project in place (2 months old) who has only no-follow backlinks - just from strong domains like wikipedia/wordpress.org etc

I have 800 of them from 113 domains and i'm ranking position 8 for a difficult word (kwfinder says 40 and ahrefs say 31), CPC 3,5$, 3200 ms/usa
 
Yes , No Follow links works.. Link juice only not passed from that domain otherwise you can get all other powers and traffics.
