A lot of people here saying, Nofollow web2.0 is still valuable and I don't agree on it.
majority of web2.0 we know with high pr (ex: digg.com, delicious.com) has their system to not pass their juice, either putting nofollow on links, metatags, and robot.txt or using their redirect links.
Many argue that these sites are still valid to make a link structure as a Tier 1 web2.0 sites, but i do not see how and why!!
as far as i know, as of 2009, no-follow links not only block passing its page ranks, but it also reduces the page rank passed on other links on the site.
for example, if a page has 5 links and all of them are d0 follow links,
each link will pass 20% of the total page rank contained within the page.
before 2009, if four of those links becomes no-follow, and only one remains d0-follow, the remaining link would pass 100% of the total page rank, but after 2009, the no-follow links would still get their percentages and be discarded completely.
so only 1 do follow link will pass 20% of the link juice, and rest 4 of them will be just discarded.
So other than just making the link look structure natural to google, I do not see the point of working on the web2.0 that has its no-follow policy.
Even if you figure out the way to pass its pagerank from 2.0 that typically has no-follow links, among all the no-follow links, it will only contain so little percentage of PR, almost worthless to work it on, especially you thought no-follow 2.0 somehow helps the link juice and waste your time and money to blast these 2.0 with xumer & sb
Anyone has other thoughts?
