No more Jr Execs??

Most newbies see Jr VIP as a badge of honor. But I don't see much value in Jr Exec. Moreover, we rarely see Jr Exec in the forum and I don't remember seeing Exec anywhere. They are distributed like fossils here and there in memory of their past achievements.

as I suspected it was a human error and as I can see @Zwielicht does what he does best goes the extra mile to provide transparency, and would it be too mean to throw my name in the hat too considering activity factor lol. I believe this should offer you the clarity you two needed, and hope to see you in that badge soon now cheers

Around the time I joined, Jr. Execs and Execs were more active on the forum. These users became more active around 2015-2016 (these were my favourite years on BHW; the amount of useful content being posted by successful members was amazing), and that especially became the case after @t0mmy and @BassTrackerBoats were voted in and did some nominations of their own.
However, those usergroups eventually died down after a bit. I remember speaking with a group of members about the Exec usergroups back in 2017, and the perception they had of it was similar to yours. But that's exactly the reason the section and usergroups are being renovated now; to change this perception that members have had about Jr. Execs and Execs for years now.

Whats the point of these ranks anyway? Drives more traffic to your marketplace threads? I wouldn't really cry so much about losing anything less than Administrator maybe.

Yeah you don't get it being a new member and haven't posted that much or big threads, the title was an acknowledgement of the work you put in
that was all it was for me at least.Whatever, should've dealt with this demotion differently and the other admin should've formulated things better so it's only logic that some of us that spend hours on big threads, contributing to the quality on BHW, are aggravated by the way this went down. But it's cool,not going to spend one more word on this whole demotion thing, got other things to focus on. Have a nice day ey

In my suggestion, Jr exec vip should be like a badge of honor given to the contributors and no demotion unless they don't have active subscription even though they not shared new methods in recent days. Because, their contribution are still useful to retain the newbies and lurkers in this forum.

I mean, the Execs were the guys who voted in the poll. Why would they care about whether these members have BSTs? If anything, wouldn't they be against that?
I'm confused here, @Billy Batts. In one sentence, you're saying that you deserve to stay as a Jr. Exec because you posted multiple big threads a little while ago and people still like to read these, which excuses your more recent inactivity. But in another sentence, you're saying Execs who posted a few big threads a little while ago (which are still being read) don't understand the forum enough. Isn't this a little contradictory?

I really didn't want to continue this but ok, why would they care about voting in someone as exec that was last active in march 2021, then oct 2020, once every month till jun 2020 and then march 2020 unless there is an alternative motive? These guys prob voted of who they know or like instead of looking at the contribution and because he has a BST dare I say it, yes, staff might(or might not) had something to with it.
About the contradiction, I see why it may be interpreted like that because of my formulation, guess I didn't formulated it the right way just like the admin however as I said, Execs besides Tommy are pretty much dead, way more than the jr Execs, also their posts are ancient while most of our threads are still applicable.
But as said, it's fine, I move on. Don't want to debate with staff because they can say anything they like without consequences while if I speak my mind I risk warning points and get threatened with a PB like has happened in the past.
So repy to it or not, I vented a little bit and that's it for me. Moving on the greater things than this thread

You don't have to respond if that's your choice. But I am going to just clarify here that it was an Exec poll. Nowhere has it been stated that staff were involved, and for good reason. It's a section for the Execs, and as such, there were no staff votes taken into account for the final decisions.
I don't know how staff would benefit from specifically having people with sales threads in Exec.... I know I certainly wouldn't. Perhaps there's some grander scheme to this that my feeble-mind can't possibly comprehend.

Someone, somewhere, is always going to have an issue with the way something is done. If we spent time figuring out how to make every single person happy with an outcome, nothing would move forward.
The demotion was handled the way it was for the reason I stated in my first post of this thread. In hindsight, there's always a better of handling a situation, but we can't dwell on what we could've done, only focus what we can do better now and in the future.
I've contributed time and money to other forums and helping build the community in the same way I did with Black Hat World. On some of these forums, I've received some rather rude responses from their staff members or even other members when I made a mistake. I still visit those communities from time to time, but I don't want or need any recognition for any guides or research I've done for them. I'm didn't lament losing any popularity on those forums or my guides being forgotten; it's the nature of forums, especially those in fast-moving industries such as this one.
At the moment, it's a title of recognition for those members who have contributed greatly to the forum. That aspect won't change, but more will be added to it in the future.
Back in 2015, I posted a thread stating that we should have a memorial section for deceased members who contributed to the forum (a bit like what Facebook does). You know, something that would allow them to keep their Exec or VIP statuses after they were deceased so that they could continue to be recognised. Even with former moderators, the idea of them having something to commemorate what they've done has been tossed around, although this never panned out reasons I can't discuss (although, as @MisterF pointed out in this thread where 7878 came back from the dead, I'm sure you can guess one of the reasons).
I do think we should look for a solution to this though, as there are members who definitely deserve this for their past contributions.
We can't say what we want to for a variety of reasons, and I frequently bite my tongue on what I post here. You should see how many revisions I make to my post drafts to make more acceptable to post.
Anyway, best of luck to you, @Billy Batts.

Were you jr exec before? Once you get promoted to something for your contribution and hard work and suddenly get kicked out. it does feel bad. It's not about crying but saying the feeling. Anyway, it's a forum where everyone is allowed to say what they feel remaining on the rules.

You're right, they are allowed to feel how they feel. If it's any consolation, it's never an intention for them to feel like they or their history on the forum are being disregarded. Prominent members sometimes move away from the forum for various reasons, including life events, changes in business, etc.
Ideally, we want the members in these sections to stay active so that they don't become dead, which is admittedly the problem they have now, as Billy Batts has stated. If these members become less active and move away from BHW, there's no foul on their end, and if they return and become more active again, there's always a decent likelihood that they'll be promoted again.
