Graduated in IT with a great mark and worked as an IT Network Manager for 5 years, was the worst 5 years of my life as I had to commute to London daily, the city is just dirty, nasty to be in and everything is overpriced.

After that I quit and made a lot of money in IM over 4 years but it's boring af and seems to be so hit and miss these days, you could waste a lot of money if you're not careful. Now i'm currently training to be a personal fitness trainer, because.. why not? I'm in decent shape and I want to help others get there too. I also seem to be some kind of extroverted introvert that likes being around people followed by me being alone for a week, with an emotional spectrum that ranges from mildly happy to mildly sad. I find most things boring and uninteresting, not really sure what I enjoy.

Basically, i'm not sure wtf i'm doing or why, as the titles says. Anybody else feel me? No idea why i'm making this thread.

You should check out if you are not ADD.

I get bored very fast too and although I can function great when with people I prefer to be alone.

I already work in a gym too lol but I do it voluntary so I at least have some social life.

Ha, I feel the same. I've skipped between a fair few jobs since finishing university. Just about settled now but no idea about long term aims, career-wise.

I don't think it's a bad thing to not know, just keep your eyes open for opportunities.

You've got your health, be thankful for that. Yes some jobs are boring, but it's what pays the rent/mortgage.

Do what you want to do, but you've got a trade/experience to fll back on.

Go on vacation, see some greenery around you, live there for a few days and freshen up your mind. You are just exhausted and need a break!!!

I feel you completely. But you should be really happy about this, dumb people don't feel that way because they think that it's normal to work 8am to 5pm, get a few bucks, take a mortgage (death contract) and live your life, UNTILL they hit some mid life crisis and realise these things that you're realising now, but at that time they're like 40-50 year old.

Be glad that you're questioning now, it will be easier later on because time solves everything.

Whats ADD? lol I feel like I have exactly this, is it adhd? lol

Get a girlfriend/boyfriend bro. Life alone sucks, simple as that. I had a similar path as you. Early success but jumped around industries, lived a fast lifestyle and often wondered where I was going. Now I aim to provide a life and future for someone other than me as well as myself. That gave me some purpose

ADD is a different form of ADHD,they got some similarities but some huge difference too.

Can't find much info in English as they renamed it to ADHD is some places.

First time I read all symptoms of ADD The final piece of the puzzle became clear to me.

Doesn't work always, I've been with many women of all colors, ages, sizes and at this point in my life couldn't care about a relationship.

Pets are a good alternative against lonelyness, they give unconditional love.

God I love you people sometimes, thanks for the above, actually really helpful.

I think a more precise way of saying this is: find a friend. Someone you actually enjoy being around. Don't overthink platonic/romantic relationships, just surround yourself with people who make you happy. But yes, being alone sucks, although some alone time every once in awhile is healthy as well.

To the OP: thank you for sharing. Much love and luck to you. Everyone's advice above is really great. There's some smart people on this forum. Listen to them. I know I have in the short time I've been here and it's been incredibly helpful.

I believe it's imoortant for every man to have a clear purpose in life. Something to live and struggle for, a goal.

When a man doean't find his purpose I think he gets lost and potentially passive and apathic. Common for younger men, I believe.

Not an easy task to find out "what's it all about for you". Some might never find out. But I think that's the reason to why you feel this way. No meaning, no point.

My post is probably obvious to you already. But my maint point is that I used to feel like you and I think many men have. It's not uncommon. You just have to find your purpose, your mission on this earth. I'm not saying this in a hippie or wannabe-guru way, more like a... i'm-much-better-than-you-way. Jokes. Just keep on searching man.

Try switching up your routines if they are making you a prisoner of a boring and shallow life

IT Network Manager -> full-time IM -> Personal Training

It seems like you went from a thing you hated to a thing that bored you and are currently pursuing a thing you are passionate about.

You appear to have things figured out pretty well. Definitely better than most on here.

Regarding the emotional things, you are just like most of us on here, to be honest. I'm the same way, with spikes in either direction at times. No harm in that.

Keep on trucking, brother.

Nobody has any idea what they're doing here. Your achievements are great, you'd value them a lot more if you hadn't achieved as much, then you'd miss what you have. Just my 2 cents.

made a lot of money in IM over 4 years

How much exactly?

As for me, I haven't made much money online till now. But have a lot of dreams. Though I already find IM boring, then again, I HAVE DREAMS.

If your passion pushes you towards being a fitness coach, why not give it a go? See how it turns out. It certainly will be more interesting as you'll be interacting with a lot of people firsthand.

Yes in most cases love makes life beautiful, but don't let yourself became dependent on "love" !
We need to learn feel happinees without other person in beside, the thing is, you cant be sure the person will stay, and if it leaves, believe me, you dont wanna feel that.
Depression is stronger than love, love even stronger than war, you be the judge.

Simple as that.

All you need to do is go out and try new things. You're not Budda so you will definitely find a multitude of activities will trill you, be it social or personal or family-related. Traveling is a nice start to get new experiences and get exposed to new things.
