You should have a diversified backlinks profile. Don't go for all do-follow or all nofollow; do a mix of both. And most importantly, build quality niche-relevant backlinks for best results.

follow links are way better, but to make it look like organic, some nofollow links must be there

The combination of do and nofollow works better because it looks natural by a search engine while crawling.And make sure with the quality of backlinks.

Follow links are much better and most demandable but according to search engine terms your backlinks should look natural by search engine so no-follow links are also important ... make a combination of both but give more focus in relevancy ...

Mix of both the links will give you the best results.
I will follow high authority sites + Niche Sites. ie., For high authority sites most probably they will provide no follow links but it gains traffic to your website.
Whereas for niche posts with good DA, you can get do follow links.
