If you haven't seen The Dark Knight you should go and see it...

Ok, since i am in a good mood tonight i am going to pull out of my magic hat another small trick used more for entertainment purpose - (but also quite effective). :):):)

In short: spam forums or blogs or comments and link back to your site using a smiley as an anchor text. Your hidden link will go unnoticed but it will help you as far as seo is concerned - despite not having a proper anchor text.

Visual description:

If you click any of the above smiles it will lead you to another website.

You can post on forums and include a smiley backlink, or you can leave a comment on a wordpress blog and include a smiley backlink, and the mods will have a hard time detecting your hidden link cause the smiley will look just normal.

You can create an image of a smiley, and then cookie stuff with the image method using a innocent smiley, well... you know.... a lot of possibilities.

Oh yeah, for the noobs the codes:

Thanks, I used this on flickr a couple times, but i didnt want to go overboard.

Do you think there is a number of how many to use a day or just do it so often or screw it and use it always.

holy shit.... thats genuis.just reply, dont post new threads.... get the do follow plug in for FFox and you will know which boards are do follow.

smilies do you completely normal on most boards.... especially if its a more common one...

As far as going overboard..... i dont think you can get too many links.... so theres no overboard unless you are using automated software and doing 10 posts on a 10,000 boards.
 
Get a smiley hotlink and you can add your anchor text too, so when you hover over it will have your keyword.

hah, this is so simple its ridiculous. I hate how sometimes when you're thinking up new ideas, you tend to overcomplicate thngs when stuff like this is right in front of you. I think its time i write a comment posting curl script :)

How freakin awesome is that, something so simple yet deadly effective. Thats what happens when you think outside of the box, sometimes we all get so narrow minded in our efforts, we forget that the people who make the most money here are the pioneers in the trenches, testing and manipulating new ways to conquer IM.
Thanks for that nick, by the way, why stop at smiley faces, take this same concept and use it a hundred different ways.

Great stuff!

Maybe you could take this further and use .htaccess and a few php tricks to cookie stuff the smilie?

Edit: Just realized you could even stuff the smilie with several affiliate cookies at once...although that's probably been said already somewhere else.
