I'm new to SEO and want to create several sites in different niches. My question is, what's a good amount of daily searches for a particular niche keyword? For example, Market Samurai tells me a certain phrase receives 100 searches a day, and if my site was ranked first in google, it would get 70 clicks. This is a fictional example, but my question is..is it worth it to pursue small amounts of daily traffic like this? If not, how much would I need?

Thanks.

well, depends on what your goals are. if u are trying to get ad revenue (such as from adwords), and if the average ad paid 2 cents per click for your niche, then 50 visits a month will probably net u 20 cents if you are lucky (basing that on 10 percent of the visits actually clicking). Or if you have a niche that you know will build over time, and u aim to sell products/whatnot, go for it

its not how it works. just because you are 1st dont mean you will receive a large amount of traffic of the daily searchers that the keyword tool say. at least my experience

100 searches a day is 3000 a month. It's a good start, especially if you are not competing against too many indexed pages for that same keyword.

If you can rank well for 10 similar keywords, you're up to 30000 searches a month.

Starting with smaller keywords help your site get some PR from G00gle. Once you reach a certain level of traffic, you can aim for bigger keywords.
