Newbie with an issue :/

Hey!

So I am new to a company and fairly new to all of this SEO stuff. I am currently trying to find out why the company site that was ranking on front page of Google a while back has now been removed completely for any relevant keywords. There may have been some penalization in the past for bad back links but I just cannot figure it out. The site has great social signals and frequently updated rich blog content. Answers on a postcard for there being any way for me to find out what has happened and what I can do to fix this?! As a company we spend a fortune on Adwords... But this surely cannot affect our organic search results? :hmmmm:

Normal font please, OP. have changed it for now, but big blocks of bold, italicised special fonts are not pleasant to read.
