Newbie to IM and a student

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking on the forums for the past week or two and I thought it was about time I introduced myself, because hopefully your be seeing a lot more of me in tje coming months.

I'm currently a freshman student at Texas A&M studying engineering, and I also work at a machine shop. I'm trying to get into IM because while working at a machine shop isn't too bad and I enjoy the people I would prefer to have more flexible hours, so I can focus on school more. I don't have a lot of time to work on IM but I do have a bit of a disposable income to work with.

I'm really excited that this is such a great community and I do believe my goals, because quite honestly I wouldn't need much to be able to quit my job.

Sorry for this being a semi long post, but if y'all (sorry I'm also from Texas) have any suggestions or questions feel free to ask in the thread or PM me

Oh I forgot to mention that I'm also a programmer I know a few different languages including ruby and python. So if y'all have any ideas or projects you want to run past me I'm open to listening to them
