Newbie blogging questions

Hi guys! so i've been around the forum for like two weeks now, and there are so many ways to learn that I just can't focus on one thing. So I'm gonna shoot two questions on blogging and hopefully you guys could help me

1. I was thinking about doing a blog on lifestyle niche (which isn't really a specific niche I guess?) where I will be covering all stuff you could think of regarding male's life. (Pickup, Business, etc..) and wanted to ask, Is this a good choice? like I know there isn't 'the best niche' but is it a legitimate blog niche to get traffic and make money of it?

2. Is blogging a good way to make money? because I am also interested in dropshipping so I don't really know what to focus on more.. there are too much ways!

Why not do both?
I'm building a blog currently that also incorporates a dropshipping store. The blog will be monetized with all sorts of affiliate offers for things I can't/won't dropship, while the dropshipped items help compliment other portions of my site.

As @patriotnews said do both, if your theme supports woocommerce that is. You could also build an amazon affiliate store using woocommerce and prosciate plugin if you would rather do that

Okay thank you! but what do you think about at the niche I stated? (like a "mans guide" blog whatever that will cover all of mens life aspects [pickup,business,style etc]

I don't read that sort of stuff, I was interviewed for 1 a few yrs back(due to the "manly" job/skill I do), turned down all follow-up interviews, but never even read my own interview. Lol. So I wouldn't know much of anything about that sort of thing.

I could see monetizing that through affiliate stuff and dropshipping. Plenty of opportunities, but ask yourself, if SEO is hard for that, do you know where to find your traffic?

That's ok, you could build up social media to get traffic

If you have all the time in the world, do both. This way, if one is not making you some money, the other one might get the job done.

okay, let me answer for the 2 questions :

1. Blog on lifestyle niche with general categories like business, pick up, males life, etc etc..
So, its not niche specific one right ? Still you can make money from the blog, but not like maintaining niche specific blog.

Niche Specific blog :

Say for example, if you maintain a blog on Pet care Niche - you used to cover articles & categorized with Pet care, dogs, parrots, treatment for pets, best foods for pets, like all about Pet

Oneday, you will receive email proposal from direct pet client asking for guest posting on your blog, where you can charge them $$ to accept articles.
As long as more article request, More articles you will get - Only accept articles that are related to your niche, So clients who bought links on your blog you will get More niche targeted traffic = Rank + Keep placing orders for other sites or their competitor will get in connect for sure

& keep Earning Money from guest posts + other such as banner ads, good paying affiliates, google adsense, etc..

2. Blogging is the Best way to Make Money, But you should have bit knowledge in order to make some #quick Money, #Good Money or else it takes some time until you learn things.

IMO, It's good to do both if you're having enough time. Both will help you earn money.

It's good to do both, but for me it's better to start growing your audience with your blog and social media before launching your dropshiping activity. And maybe Media Buying with FB ads should help increase your sales

Dropshipping is selling items through for example your webshop but with no inventory, when someone buys something on your webshop then you buy that item for example on Aliexpress.

Now even though the concept is simple and easy to setup, to be successful you need to work hard.

Thank you everyone for the replies! once I finish studying for my final exams I will go full-time researching blogging, dropshipping etc. I think I will do the men blog I was talking about, work on articles and traffic, and use social media to get more traffic . (I'm currently growing a luxury page manually, might grow another account which is more related to the blog). As I get some decent traffic I will start dropshipping with the blog (If anyone could link me to some guide on how to dropship using a blog I'd love that) and that's it! thanks for the replies again

IMHO it's been best to really niche down. You have to figure that even if there is a lot of interest for a particular topic, there might be so much competition that 1. You won't ever rank. 2. If you do, you'll probably be out manned and out gunned. You know what I mean? Do a search for the different web traffic analyzers that are out there. That will help you to find out what people are searching for, and from there you can start to generate business ideas.
