I have been studying various forms of IM for some time. I have learned a fair amount about using Yahoo answers for free targeted traffic. My problem is that no one is asking questions (at least not recently) about the niche topic I am working.

What I want to know is, does anyone ever create a 2nd Yahoo answers account (using different IP of course) simply to ask a question so you can answer it with your regular Yahoo answers account?

I haven't found anyone talking about this on this forum, and I doubt that I am the first person to consider this. Any feedback or experience would be Great!

Oh yeah, I do that all the time. Y Answers is known for being high up in the big G results for certain topics. But I've had mixed results. Usually only getting traffic in the first week or so of the posting the answers.
Same tactic can be used with forums for certain topics.

In fact this is the way you have to go. Usually if someone ask I answer and if possible to give more weight to my answer I answer promoting the same product with different usernames. But post you link only once.

Other way is to search the keywords to rank in Google. Then post a question (very rich keyword) as
Code:
Keyword, Anyone has tried keyword?
and so on. Then next day you answer with other user. Whwn the question is open to votation choose your answer as best answer.
Yahoo Answer ranks pretty well in Google so you can get a lot of organic traffic. Treat it as other splog and send it some backlinks.
Check de download section. There are some ebooks about all of this that can help you but basically this is the way to go.
