Many people the world over make New Years' Resolutions and BHW, as a microcosm of society, is not any different in that respect.
I'm a tad different in that as long as I can remember I have not made a NYR but I do believe in making changes in my life for the better (tweaking my onsite internal personal SEO) and do them when I see a need and have the proper motivation. My thought process is not right nor is it wrong it is just my thought process.
Your thought process, like your mileage, may vary.
With the above in mind I would like to share my most recent life altering resolution and I sure hope that many of you share your resolutions whether they are New Years' ones or ones that you have just made to make your corner of the world a better place.
I've been working on being more locally social conscious and giving back to the community in more ways than just writing a check to the local non profits to help those in need.
Over the past few months I have developed a relationship with a local non profit where I teach a G.E.D. class 4 days a week A G.E.D. is a general education diploma and one gets that in place of a High School Diploma in the United States. A HS Diploma is the reward/proof that you spent 12 successful years in the school system in the USA and is the very basic requirement of education for most jobs here.
For a variety of reasons a lot of people do not finish HS and thus do not get the HS Diploma and thus that has created a need for the G.E.D. program... the reasons mean nothing to me as that is none of my business... helping them attain the G.E.D is what I am looking to accomplish with them.
The position is not a a paid one, of course, and I do have to deal with my medical speed bumps which get in the way sometimes as well as a lack of technology but we work through that together (the students and I) in order for them to achieve their goals. Thus far we have had 8 acquire their diploma and 6 more will be taking their equivalency test in January.
#rewarding
So my "resolution" is to be more a part of my local community and give what little I have in terms of time and knowledge... what are your New Years' Resolutions and how to you plan on accomplishing them?
