Wordpress com with standard simplest flat site structure beats them all out in seo.

One thing that’s worked surprisingly well for me is building pages around questions that already show up in Search Console, rather than chasing new keywords. I had a page where several related queries were sitting around positions 15 - 30. I expanded the sections around those topics and added direct answers. Over the next month, a bunch of those queries moved onto page one.

I’d say original data and genuinely useful content are still underrated. Combining that with strong internal linking and relevant digital PR seems to produce better results than chasing every new tactic.

I don’t think there’s one “new” technique that beats everything else. What’s working for me is improving existing content, stronger internal linking, topical depth, and getting relevant mentions. The basics still work, just with more focus on quality and relevance.
