Hi there everyone, I'm Tom, from Worthing, UK. Currently doing everything in my power to research and develop my knowledge and skill with SEO. I'm wondering if anyone here on BHW can help me by pointing me in the right direction, give personal experience advice, and generally be very useful!

I understand the whole 'newbie' thing, and how it's somehow frowned upon by the elite out there, but a brother has to start somewhere, and so I'm hands in the air telling you that I'm eager to get some info on how other people got involved with SEO, and what I have to do to be good at it.
What should I be doing to learn the basics, right through to the advanced stuff. What should I avoid doing? What mistakes have others made that I can learn from?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated, and if there are any pointers for the forum, I'm all ears.

    Thanks in advance.

    Tom

First thing you will need to know and learn as this is crucial and is the first step in all SEO KEYWORD Research when i say crucial i mean it,
    1. You need to learn what keywords to search for
    2. Don't go for the highest ranking if your new
    3. Google keywords is FREE use that
    4. Once you found your keyword put it back in to google keywords
    5. find exact matches and in advanced i search for competition you can set it as low
    6. press search
    7. extract the keywords and do each one individually again to help you get a few more different phrases
    8. once done you should have 5 keywords max (try and keep it as minimum as possible) I have 2 max
    9. Put each keyword back into google keywords, Find your keyword and press on it Google will open another window,
    10. on the left hand side there should be an option saying more tools or whatever click it and go to related searches.
    11. Find your keyword and do the same thing again until you narrow down your results,
For best results find your self a nice tool you can find some laying about round here or on google.

Hope this helps tryed making it as easy to understand as possible so once you done that you can ask for step 2.
