New to Blogging.. What Next?

Hello BHW members... i want to start blogging and want to earn money with it. I have registered a new blog at blogger. I am posting on gadgets topic. It is two days since i am working on it. I am getting ZERO traffic.

Please tell me how i can gain traffic from Google. I will work harder on my postings but i know that just working on the articles will not give me good traffic with a little income. Please suggest me a better way to increase traffic from Google minimum at least 1000.

I read little bit about Link building but i am not understanding that how can i find do follow blogs. :(

Please guide me so that i can generate a little income at least $1 a day from Adsense.

post regularly in your blog and keep patience... you ll get some traffic after a month or two..
check your niche related blog in alexa, check there backlinks and create same for ur blog..
 
Post high quality content. Don't run behind traffic, instead focus on posting high quality content, because then readers will throng at your website. Search engines also embrace quality content. I have seen guys who have ranked on Google without focusing much on website promotion, because their entire attention was on generating quality content. And yeah, I understand that money is the ultimate driving force for each one of us, but if you're not passionate about blogging, then it'd be really tough for you persevere in the long run.

Let's be frank here, Earning money is not everyone's cup of tea. Hard work + Smart work + perseverance = Success is the most commonly used cliche`, what matters at the end of the day is your passion for that particular thing, because when the tides are against you, then everything except passion fizzles out. It saves you from getting perished away into the deep sea. Sorry for the metaphorical shit. :D

You should really start reading more and develop your business once you understand some steps. Nobody would be able to give you all details on what you should do as there are lots of topics to cover. Above you have some pretty good pointers but if you will not start actually reading about the subjects of interest you will not get far.
There are tons of threads in this forum catering the subjects you need to cover, start there.
 
Work a lot of your SEO and Post high quality content. SEO should be your main focus right now.
 
When your blog is already full of quality content, don't use only google to get traffic, but also facebook (you have to post your links on groups walls) and YouTube
 
I used blogger, wasn't satisfied, after this I switched to wordpress hosted blog, they suspended account after a few days saying how they think I am IM or get rich over night kind of a deal (wasn't)...Anyway, they offered me to switch to Godaddy hosting, and since I did this everything changed. Wordpress on Godaddy with so many plugins to choose from. Believe me, if you're good you can't fail. I'm just saying...

I love to blog but the word quality content is little short for me because of lac of knowledge. I am writing at least 500-600 words articles with headings, bullets paragraph and without any grammatical or spelling mistake. Is this what you are talking about "QUALITY CONTENT"?. or it is something else?,, please suggest me and newbies like me some couple of links where i can learn what is quality content and how to write it. If you can post some links of some great seo articles or some tutorials then it will be very glad of you.

Quality content is just what the name implies: informative and of quality. Technically even 100 words can be quality content (it may contain the information that readers actually need), but personally I go for 300-500 words. Some go 600-800, some over 1000. It depends a bit about the actual content (simple article can be shorted than, say, review of something), but 500-600 should be enough.

But the problem here is that you've taken very generic, very competitive (didn't check this, but really...) niche, that has had competition for years - how did you think about ranking decent with the "big boys" in few days? So yeah, +1 for "read more - lot more" about blogging and raking your sites even here on BHW, and you'll get there eventually. Maybe just not for the keyword "gadgets", but maybe "blue gadgets in <your area>" ;)
 
make sure you network with others who blog on the similar topic as you do. Find similar posts and comment on those posts. This way people who have interest in your niche will come on your blog and they will return too. Also register your blog in blog directories. If you were using wordpress you would have more options to optimize it for SEO.

If you are new, be in patience. try to update your blog more often. try best to create quality & niche related links

No they don't. There's nothing wrong with blogger (other than it being very limited), it works just fine for any small time blogging - actually even better than hosted WP.
 
Try to write with helping others in mind. Don't just write to make money. If you do it like this, the money part will come naturally.

Also you need patience and dedication to be a successful blogger, if you picked blogging as a "money making method for this week" you're in for a nasty surprise.
 
With the latest updates to google's search engine, what's better first, focusing on SEO from the start or posting high quality content over time and only after SEO ?
 
quality content = content that you want to read, if I was looking for a specific gardget would i want to read you blog?
 
Hello, just what they say, posting quality contents will help you make money. But don't expect that it will happen overnight.
 
go get youtube
change your post blog to sound and applied to persentation
then upload on youtube and get about thousand views to get viral (don't forget to add your blog link in description)
get ready for avalanche traffic

try to stay up to date use google adwords to do keyword research and keep posting good quality content, that's the key
