So, Pinterest yesterday announced a new change in their search settings, introducing new search filters personalized to your interest. This setting is based on the gender you previously selected for your profile/account.
This is great news for all targeting at a specific public, especially in the gender section.

That's great news, though I still have to master the female market.

Pinterest is only for women interest. I try promoting men related products on pinterest and get 0 sales.

I'm surpised its finally taken so long to decide to open up to the male market, especially since its been close to a year since they decided to launch the promoted pins. Men spend much more money online than woman do, the articles that were pushing women spending more online was from 2002 during the early years of e-commerce. I know on certain websites many men will easily drop $1,000 or more per month on a very addictive service.

It depends on the male growth, it could get to close to 50/50 within a few years.

Apparently number of male users on Pinterest is indeed going up in certain countries like Japan. But for the number of men on Pinterest in US -> yeah, i think they are all marketers.

True, men do spend more money online than women. And they also noticed that. Plus, that huge rise in their demographics cannot be dismissed, so they had to do something about it. And they will do even more, because big profits are hiding behind them.

Not only will they be making much more revenue but their valuation will also increase rapidly with the more men. It could be a $20 to $25 billion company by the end of 2016 compared to the $5 billion it is worth now.
