Hi guys,

Recently I started creating a paypal business account to process payments on a website.

The goods are digital and there's no delivery date/shipping details.

Because the account is new, PayPal asks me to confirm delivery (status) for each new payment.

I have a couple of questions:
  1. Do I have to change anything or will paypal learn in time that I sell only digital goods without physical delivery? Can I setup my account further?
  2. I had a couple of disputes opened for "Not as advertised" and do you know if there is an accepted dispute ratio (percetange) over which paypal will start restricting a business account?

I been facing the same issue but it's reverse for me I have to approve it from my side after purchasing the product

Would love to know what other people have to say on this matter

I guess this happens mostly when you sell digital goods with an online store or eCommerce website like Woocommerce etc.

If you will not use such stores and directly create a PayPal button and set the fulfillment (something like that) to NO SHIPPING ADDRESS IS Needed, then PayPal will not think it is a shippable product. I guess. That's what I have been doing to have control on digital deliverables for my three websites.

It's a custom-built web app.

I used a paypal buttong from their dev docs, but I will check it again. Because I didn't see anything related to shipping when I setup the button.

Thank you

Sure. You can create it directly in your account dashboard. While creating the buttons, you will find this DON'T ASK FOR SHIPPING ADDRESS or something like that when you drop down other options below, before you save/create.

How to deal with

It’s because it’s a new account. PayPal hold all money in new accounts. Once you have a few months of sales then they will start releasing money straight away but as this is digital items it might get your account banned. Especially if you keep getting charge backs.
