New Panda Refresh Today!?! My rankings have returned

That's awesome Manny!

What you did is exactly what I'm recommending to people that I talk to and it's also had a lot of benefit for them. Things like keyword diversification and deoptimizing is critically important post-Penguin.

The good ol' over-optimization is a problem, so don't try and get your onsite perfect and be sure to build a ton of diversity into your linkbuilding methods.

Keep us updated on your progress, and it's good to hear you are back in action...

hm where will all that lead to? In 6 months all seo guys link diversified their backlinkprofile to look like non-optimized pages. So every site looks like it's not optimized? What counts then? Shere number of backlinks? Actually content? Appearing on many g+ accounts?

Yeah, its really hard to know what to do for off-site seo if I want to increase my rankings for specific keywords. In the past, I would create links with anchor text matching the keyword I wanted to rank for, now, what do you do?

I don't have an answer to this question.

I have sites that partially recovered, that have been hit again over the weekend - days after penguin 1.1. It's still hard to get a complete handle on this thing.

I had the exact same thing on the site i have that got slapped. I was #5, on the 25/4 i dropped to #88. I managed to work my way back to #40 with link cycles only to drop to #85 on saturday!

Yeah, I cross my fingers every time I check my SERPs, hoping my luck has not run out...so far so good, but running my SERPs is the most stressful time of the day for me...

Looks like you need at least 3 sites nowadays one for panda, one for penguin and inbetween the 2 of them.

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh man,

this is a big job to interlink all these blog posts...i feel like this will never get done...and to tell you the truth, it doesn't seem this job will ever end as i continue to add more posts, but once the majority of these posts are interlinked, it won't be such a big deal to interlink the new pages...

few hours ago my site got hit hard again. traffic was x2 on two days just after penguin 1.1 but almost keyword are gone now :(

You're not the only one. Since I was building backlinks in the last 72 hours i'm not sure wether i'm dancing or got hit. My sites went from ranking keywords in the top 3 to moving down 10 to 20 spots in some cases. I'll just continue building.

Why wouldn't you use an auto-linking plugin to handle most of it? I use one and it rocks. Everything is automatically interlinked and updated and I don't have to do anything.

I have site not even survived, but boosted with Penguin in April, it was hit in this month.... get to 80++ for all keywords (previously I had over 20 first page rankings)

The roller coaster is going dowwwwwwwwwwwwwn again. That's it. I am officially never checking the serps again as long as I live. Ever. And ever. And forever. Times infinity.

Maybe Google hit the shuffle button today? I'm seeing some sites that were hit getting more Google traffic. I can't confirm any change in the SERPS because I don't see it in the datacenters I've checked. Oddly enough, the few sites I added content to still have no change in Google traffic.

Oh well, there is nothing I can do but sit back and enjoy the ride. I've done my part in creating good content worthy of being indexed. Shit, some single pages alone took over four hours of research to assemble and provides information up and above all the competition. According to how Google ranks those pages, that time would have been better spent loading my AdCenter account. :)

Google is just too fucking big. When Google makes changes it results in a web standards policy shift driven by their algorithm. No company should have this power over an entire industry. Penguin, designed to hammer those that have over-optimized, now tells us those H1, H2, H3 tags might be better off unused. Bold text on a page is now a "no, no" and simple HTML comments (hidden for developer code block notes) may also hurt your ranks. Apparently Google wants their own web standards and could care less about W3C and even the most basic elements used to define a webpage. Who needs to be just a member in the consortium when you have the power to use your algorithm to effect change.

That's my daily rant. Now back to being normal and trying to figure out why Google is suffering from bipolar disorder, which by the way would probably be an excellent name for their next algorithm update (bipolar bear). Enjoy your day/night folks. :)

My rankings dropped a couple positions but the good news is I'm still on first page for major keywords.

LOL That's funny.
