You mean, you want to sell the articles to your clients and turn around and sell the same articles to someone else? Not sure if thats what you meant or not...
No. I would never sell the same article to more than one person. I just have tons of articles that I or my team have written over the past 2 years and my clients generally work in a specific niche so some of them are not valuable to them. So I have articles that my clients do not want because they won't benefit them but that I have spent a lot of time and effort on and I would like to make some money off of them. Does that make more sense?

The buy, sell, trade section is closed here but there are other forums that people sell articles in... DP is one of them.

Maybe you could create some article plr pack and sell that on WarriorForum as WSO.

what about associated content?
I do publish on associated content. However, I do so much freelance that I find it hard to find the time to publish the articles. Some of the articles are such things like a large set of reviews that the client decided not to pay me for and I can't publish that on associated content as they are all reviews rewritten. However, most are articles that I just don't have the time to publish. I have thought of hiring someone to publish them but then that decreases my income even more. So my next thought was selling them to someone who could actually use them towards their own needs. My other problem is choosing what to sell them for. Since I am fairly new to the whole selling thing (I am just a freelancer who gets jobs from freelance job sites like getafreelancer) I just don't know where to begin. I want to make this job more profitable for me and learn to really make an income working from home.
Would it be wise to stop using freelancer and start using a site such as this to gain new jobs? I have been writing for 2 years now with several thousands articles written not counting the thousands of rewritten articles I have done. I believe I am very good at writing and I know that I deserve better pay then what is being offered on freelancer, I just don't know how to get to that point.

The pricing on articles vary widely... you see some people offering them for 2.50 per 50 words, others at 1.00 per 100 words and some people are able to charge as much as 10.00 per 500 words.
I have a guy I use when I fall behind that charges me 2.00 for a 400 word article in packages of 25 articles. His stuff is pretty good and I often use his articles for pages on some of my websites.
Most of my sites are business/job/insurance/finance related.
You'll probably have to test the waters some out there to get a feel for what others will pay for your articles.

I wouldn't stop at getafreelancer... you should diversify your marketing base and develop it before cutting off the only place that is sending you business now.
Wow. That is a lot more money than I am used to. My situation is more like $1/500 words and I know my experience exceeds far beyond that. Sometimes I am lucky if I get that much. I just do it because that is the work I am given and freelancer doesn't usually offer much more than that. I won't stop at getafreelancer until I have built something else up. I have several clients that I work for continuously. They just don't seem to want to pay more than $1 or so. I have tried to get them to increase the rate as I have some that I have completed over 1000 articles for. However, they don't see it that way. I love my work and I don't want to stop. I just want it to be more worth my time and effort. Have you ever had a situation where a client just didn't pay you? What did you do? Right now on the articles I am sitting on, I am out several hundred maybe even several thousand dollars as I have stock piled them for quite some time. I can't thank you enough for all of the advice. I guess I just never knew there were individuals out there who were this helpful. Everyone else I have talked to before this forum just told me whatever because it wasn't there money so they didn't care. I have definitely learned a few things today.
I have to say that I am not shocked but out of total curiosity, I copyscaped some of the previous work i have done for clients. I found articles that I did for a mear $0.50 that they were paid or were selling for $5-10. I am just floored. Some of the articles are for sale on websites while others, I have no way of telling how much they earned from the article. I also checked GAF and found that some of my clients were working for other clients (not a shock) but that their clients were paying them 4 times what they were paying me. Sometimes more. Wow the things you just don't think about sometime. Thank you all for your advice. I am definitely going to work on moving up in this writing world and do something to help myself rather than sit back and watch my work fall to pieces.

Best advice is to keep away from getafreelancer like sites and search more for IM forums your profit could be much better. Set up an website with some examples of your writing style or even better collect links to your articles as well and set up an small portfolio site.
Great. Those are ideas I have never thought of. I haven't taken on any new jobs from GAF for quite some time. I have actually just stuck with my regular clients. So far, I only know of this forum and Digital Point so I will be sure to look for some others. As for the website, I am going to have to figure that one out. Would a blog work? A lot of my work has been done for other clients rather than being published under my own name. I know that my clients will give me referrals, so that is not an issue. I have written quite a few of my own articles. About 50 or so are published. The rest are stock piled at the moment.

$1 per 500 words? wow...i'm pretty sure you deserve more than that. I pay a lot more to my writers because they are humans too. I will keep you in mind when I need some write ups in the future.

occasionally i see people wanting articles done, why don't you check out hire a freelancer section?
