New Google Update?

Something definitely happened. I follow several huge amazon affiliate sites. 10beasts.com got massacred. So did some friends websites, one of which I advertise on.
Oh but it looks like they bounced back somewhat... Interesting.

the designer old owner of 10beasts is helping the new owner to get it all back on board .

there very strong rumors that the new update is not a new update but part of the ending or contunue fred ....

May be site owner will create spam backlinks for domain then google will deindex that site
 
Matt Diggity from 'The Lab' did some analysis and websites that were hit had one thing in common, edu (scholarship) links. 10beast did recover because the previous owner did remove some of the edu links and disavowed the one that he could not remove (there are enough posts here about that so there is no need to repeat what others have already said) You can see Matt's Facebook post here:

And what happened a couple of days ago had nothing to do with the so-called Maccabees update. Anyway, whatever they (google) did work fine for me, I see a nice increase in traffic. I do buy links :) but don't use .edu.
 
Something did happen I think. Crap and I just bought a bunch of links and my traffic went down by like 6k SEMrush, SHould I delete the EDU links peeps?
