There is always updates, far as something major, doesn't look like it http://mozcast.com/. But others might have different opinions.

Yes.. Just now I have seen the same news in searchengineland site also..

Yes.. There is an update on 20th also.. The worst part of google is it never confirm any update..
Just now i have read an article in searchengineland site that google is rolling another update.. Hope it may be update of penguine..

On September 4th, and last week, August 21st, there were huge spikes in chatter amongst the SEO and webmasters about the Google search results shifting and changing. Google May Be Updating Their Algorithm But They Won't Confirm It.

Yes.. You are correct mate.. Hope due to this update my clients sites SERP are swiped out..
I lost 90% of my google traffic. Strange thing is all my blog posts (thin content with affliliate links, installed in a subdirectory) got deranked but not deindexed. But my old pages (static html) in the root are still very high ranked in SERP's.. Somehow it seems SERP's been reset to a status from 1-2 months earlier (when my blog didn`t exist yet).
Root has got 2k (partial blackhat backlinks), blog subdir 10 at most.. Maybe that has got to do something with?

Nowdays google always update their algo with kind of weird stuffs. One thing is not going to fall is Google paid listing on SERP. This might increase who know and decrease the organic listing.
