New Google Update? Huge Increase in Traffic...

Hey Guys,
I´m recognizing a big increase in Traffic from yesterday on
Screenshot of the Online Shop:

In Google Search Console there's nothing yet But the data will appear in GSC tomorrow.

It´s very weird because:

1. Almost all are Organic

2. It seems like the Landingpage is the homepage which makes absolutely no sense to me because It´s a local shop and I don't understand which keyword would direct to the homepage?

3. If someone is searching for the shop name, its most of the time local people here, but almost all clicks came from somewhere else in Germany. It makes absolutely no sense to me.

4. No conversions yet. Our Online Shop Isn't the best because there are only a few products in ( compared to amazon where we have 5k products) and they're only a few hundred. We´re working on that but seems like a google update hit us which show the website to an irrelevant group of people

Also, SEMRUSH doesn't show anything.


Anyone experiencing something similar?

It doesn't look organic. I had a problem like that a few months back where bots would come to my site and do nothing, but it came up as organic traffic.
 
Wow when most of the people are witnessing decline in traffic and rankings, you are having an upward trend

Well I don´t hope so.

But it seems very legit.
Not from one location, all from Germany. The only weird thing is that all people which visited yesterday are between 25 and 35. Not even one younger or older.

Bounce rate yesterday was 45% and normal its 43% so seems pretty normal.

I hope that they all are real but i don't think anyone would bot this website as its pretty small and we don't compete really with a lot of people (most of them are bigger than we are and we have no chance in competing with them)

Check if you are not in news or something. Maybe people are searching about you though your website :D

If not, its good to see someone has increase! I hope it is real and it is because something positive!
 
It might be bot traffic, or aftermath of google update, maybe you started to rank on some high traffic keywords?
 
I have an Update but I don't know if this is bad or good.

We have the domain with an - in-between and .de and .com ending so e.g. black-hat.com and black-hat.de

Someone just registered the .net (black-hat.net) domain.

Now comes the weird thing:

The shop is a fake shop, so you order on it and you pay but won't get anything. After a bit of research, this is going through some news sites.

That also explains why a lot of people are looking at our Impressum and in search console a lot of people searching after it e.g. (black-hat Gbr (Gbr is a business type in Germany)).


The good thing is that the Fake shop sells bicycles and we sell outdoor equipment so hopefully, no one should think that we are the fake shop.

Should have never happened because we should have bought the .net domain to protect our domain.


Edit:
The fact that we rank 1 on google for "black-hat" and the other domain with .net not even on the first site is the cause of the problem.

Conversion at the time is 0 and I don't know how it was before because analytics was just installed recently.
Most of the people just search Online for the shop and then buy local in our Shop.

Unfortunately, it seems like that's just a small boost because of Media.

Yeah, your were right.
Don´t know if it is positive. I´m not an expert but could the rankings be improved trough the overall higher traffic?

Let´s hope that this wasn´t the only thing.
 
Update:

Seems like everything is going back to normal now (unfortunately).
But what a coincidence that smth like this happened to me.

I hope their won't be any damage to our Image because of the bad publicity (people could mistake us with them)
