I bought a new domain a week ago and wrote and published 10 articles. I want to know when I should create backlinks for my new domain to rank my website.
Is Business Insider only 100$? What's the catch? Is it nofollow? As above suggested, you can begin adding a few quality backlinks a week immediately. If your goal is to build authority as soon as possible, make sure your first articles are informational and helpful in a laser-focused way for your niche site. You can then add more general but still related posts to fill out the content, as a few hundred pages of content (short or long, with the internal linking going mostly to the first information articles) will further develop the site's authority, and thereby its ranking power. If it's using Wordpress, select a professional looking theme to give off a good first impression to visitors.
If you really want to microwave your progress in building authority, and you have $1000-$1200 to invest, you could also consider pointing a few top tier or editorial links to the informational pages right away. Just estimating from some recent quotes, say, place Yahoo Finance ($600), USA Today ($400), Associated Press/AP ($125), Business Insider ($100) or similar premier posts linking to your domain, and in short order the perceived authority of the domain should explode upwards, just from those 3-4 elite links. Even if you give up on your site down the road, upon resale the value of the domain by itself should be much, much higher than when you started.
