I have seen this happening ever since the Release of Penguin 3.0 and I'm not sure if it is a bug or something that was intended.

    Observation
So what I see it a lot of vBulletin Forums getting 2 instead of 1 Listings in the SERPs.

So if a vBulltein Forum was at #1 before, it is now at #1 and #2 with 2 different URLs that are fairly similar. Sometimes subcategoies or different categoreis.

Also they seem to always be right next to each other... so if a result was #2, it gets 2 and 3, if it was 3, it gets 3&4 ect.

    Annoying
This is quite annoying, since in some niches where I am competing with vBulletin borads this really pushes my sites out of the Top 3 and costs me a lot of clicks.

    Your Observatsions
Can anyone else confirm this being an issue right now?

It does seem quite exploitable... get vBulletin and get 2 listings in the SERPS^^

It's an Algo, of course it can be gamed.

That is not actually an issue per se; I have some of my sites do the same thing and they are just WP sites.

I have no vbulliten boards with which I compete so I have not seen that for that platform but it is done with content and interlinking for the most part.

Hopefully you can slide in there with your site(s) and get your positions back.

The weird thing is that over literally years I have nerver seen this kind of structure in the search results...
...and now I'm seeing it in 2 different niches and on about 6 different vBulletin forums.

I was aware that in some rare cases google would give more than one SERP listing to a hyper-authorative site, but I have never seen it happening so far.
