I was wanting to get out of the house so I headed to Starbucks to get some coffee and honestly just to be outside. I was sitting down with my laptop sipping on my coffee when an older woman came through the door. She went up, paid for her coffee, then looked for a place to sit along with her husband. Next, well, I guess it was out of some movie. She see's where I am sitting, my empty bag is in a seat(I never do this) and she yells out in-front of 20 people " WTF, can't you get your shit off that spot as others have to sit here". I am from the old school, I respect my elders but also know there is a polite way to ask me to move my stuff. I responded, "how about you ask in a nice way, I am moving my stuff now" She yells out, " Good, wtf, no one here has respect for anyone anymore" I stated "I have respect but as a fellow adult, I think you should show me the same. She proceeds to sit down next to me, I can feel the anger inside of my body, and next she tells me" Listen, I am sorry I yelled at you, I have cancer all in my body, I am just losing it" I told her, sorry I had my stuff there and if you want to just talk I am here to listen to whatever you have to say. I guess to make a long story short people come in and out of our lives and we don't know the reason but showing patience and empathy can make another person's day. She thanked me for some reason and told me to pray for her. Again, we are all human, we all say and do things that are not always polite but deep down inside we all have a common bond.
