One of my competitors is doing Negative SEO on one of my pages. I was competing with him for top positions on G. Couple of weeks ago he started to post comments on bogus websites using my entire article as a content. In this moment thousand of IP's are accessing the link for this product. The problem is that since he started doing this I've disappeared from SERP for the main keyword. I have used the disavow function for couple of hundred of links that I have found. I don't know what to do next .. My website is 3 years old and I have invested a lot of time and money in it. I don't want to lose it because of this motherf...r! I would appreciate if you have any ideas on how to stop this, I'm afraid that soon it might affect my entire website. Thanks.

For the spammy links, disavowing is the best countermeasure. As far as mass content duplication is concerned, there is not much you can do, except filing DMCA takedown requests here http://support.google.com/legal/contact/lr_dmca?&product=websearch and depending on the number of copies, this is a quite time consuming process.
Another way: Legal scare tactics with a lawyer, if you can't get his real adress, try via host or registrar. Even if you can't proof it's him and really sue him, it can still work. Did this twice successfully.

The only reason I left this thread open is because OP is asking how he can stop the negative SEO attack.Man this sucks, in a lot of cases there isn't really anything you can do about negative seoI wish you luck OP
Edit: I just thought what I'd do if this happened to me. If this guy successfully takes down your site, neg seo him back. Bring him down with you; it's only right
We don't normally allow negative SEO discussions here, but I gave this one a pass since he's not asking how he should seek revenge on his competitor.

I don't like this but do a disavow, and with the covering text tell Google you are being spammed now by a competitor.
I had a guy that seemed really legit from the USA do it in late 2013, he also did a negative rep attack. I had to disavow, but told Google at the time ( I know I hated doing it but had no other option that I could see)
As far as I know I was never penalized by Google, and the lies he posted on free WEB 2.0 sites were soon removed by the site owners without me needing to lift a finger.

It is a good idea, but I'm afraid that he will pick the new article and post it all over
I have used the disavow option, the problem is that he;s building new links every day. Where should I include the covering text to tell I'm spammed by competitor? in the same txt that I use to disavow links? I'm not yet penalized but he's doing his best to get me penalized. He's using this technique to build links for homepage as well. I'm almost sure he's trying to get my whole site penalized. Thanks

He already know my website. I can't run. I have to stay and solve the problem, this niche is pretty hard and I've worked months to get top position, so I want this niche, I deserve it

If you can see his contact info from domain lookup (https://www.whois.net/), you can try contacting him for legal scare tactics.

If you are 100% certain you have found the person responsible and your site is worth the trouble to you, I would contact a lawyer to formulate and send an official cease and desist letter to him, possibly through his webhost. Other than that and disavowing the spam, the effect of which is obviously questionable, you really do not have much recourse in something like this. It sucks, but this is the reality of things today. You have Google's web spam team to thank for this.

Btw, one fix for this; LOWER your on page kw density by 0,25%, resubmit, check #, repeat 1 week later.
if he's hit you with exact match, try removing your KW entirely on page and supplement it with synonym.
to really weed out if off page is hurting you, replace your content via a PNG for 1 week and check #.

The situations is the same. He's still posting comments and using my article as content. There are times when my website appear in SEPR for the main keyword, then in couple of days disappear and so on. I could change the article but he will pick up my new article as well and spread it on spammy websites.... Until now the disavow option seems to work. I've used it and update it as soon as I have found links. I hope he will get tired or something and he will stop this negative seo. Thanks for your reply.

Don't worry. Sign up with these guys. CognitiveSEO. They helped me recover a few sites. Then setup alerts. So anytime any weird linking comes your way, you'll know. They are the best. Even AHREFS is 2nd best compared to them.
