People won't need to recover if huge forums like bhw aren't openly teaching noobs how to do it.

There are topics I guarantee you won't know anything about that used to be openly discussed here. They were saturated at the time but once the topic was banned the methods just gradually became secret again.

Your argument is so incredibly flawed. Your argument is that we should keep open discussions about neg seo so that we can help those who have been neg seo'd recover because without the discussion on bhw they would be doomed. What you fail to acknowledge is that 90% of threads are people discussing/asking questions about how to perform neg seo and then the millions who end up reading it. Millions who would have never known it existed, millions who even if they heard it wouldn't be able to find any real public information on it and given up.

The only people who would perform neg seo without the public information would be the top 1% of bad guys who are going after the pick keywords.

Now because every tom dick and harry know how to neg seo with a few cheap tools and realize it's actually quite easy, easier than putting effort into positive seo for their own site, you've ended up with a situation where countless low to medium difficulty niches are under attack from neg seo. If it continues the knowledge will spread and spread and you'll argue even stronger "Oh, but we need to keep discussing it to help those people".

Let me ask you this. How many secrets do you think there are out there that are incredibly dangerous? There are a lot. Right now they remain secret. Do we need to discuss them to protect ourselves? No. We don't know them. Only a few individuals know and are using these dangerous secrets so they're not a danger to the majority of us unless we get unlucky. Now according to your logic all dangerous methods should be openly discussed so we can be protected.

It's much like the flawed logic the UK government and media like to employ. The amount of publication of "legal highs" in the news is ridiculous. Before the media and government made an issue of the few deaths from them, they weren't a mainstream problem. Suddenly every 16 year old kid hears about this fake weed he can buy legally. But yeah, they'll listen to the "dangers" and "get educated". Bull. They'll go and get high just like noobs will go and employ neg seo to make $$.

Legal highs are now a major problem in the UK and the gov continue to preach about "wider education". It's really laughable. It's like adding petrol to a fire to try to put it out. The only way to eradicate a fire is to starve it of oxygen and the same applies with real life problems. You no longer give something attention and it goes away. It's really that simple.


And to directly answer your question "What's the harm". Here is what happens.

Person 1 creates a thread detailing how negative SEO has completely destroyed their online business and their competitor has now overtaken them.

Person 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,..,100001,100002 and so on reads it and they don't think "Oh poor guy. I better read to see how to protect myself". They read it and think "Wow, negative seo works!" Their eyes turn into $$ signs and a cha-ching noise happens somewhere in their mind. You've now through evidence convinced even more people neg seo is a way for them to get out of poverty. People will do almost anything to get out of poverty.

I would say there is no point to ban discussion about negative SEO.People know what negative SEO is it is down to indvidual ethical behaviour to go on ths path or not.

I agree with both the people voting just to ban "how to" and want to buy threads related to negative SEO plus I agree
with people wanting to outright ban it. It is not about ethics, behavior or freedom. It is the solid fact NSEO is a bad thing for
the industry as a whole and is not worthy to be openly discussed and indexed regularly on one of the largest authority sites
for all SEO discussion and internet marketing tactics.

Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird can and will be circumvented in time just like every other system
we have exploited over the years. But something like YouTube flagging, eBay listing flagging and now Negative SEO
is just a eyesore on the whole industry where eventually no person wins.

It is much more dangerous than any algorithm update for the long term. I am not some wiz kid that can code the
solution to automatically dealing with SEO. But that is something we all need. Just like we have DDOS protection.

There are always going to be people who will open stupid threads about it. Some people just assume that black hat = fraud, scamming, negative seo, hacking, and all that.

I'm sick of idiots wanting to negative seo people. But in the real world, these people exist and it's not going to change online.

Not sure what the solution for this would be though, so I voted for other. Maybe they just need to be educated that this is the wrong forum for that (temp ban?)

I agree, methods of doing itNeg SEO should be banned and only recovery methods should exist. I really don't understand why people do it anyway. I think most of the people that do it are people that are frustrated with being unable to directly compete with another site so try and bash the competition.

The main problem is that when someone ruins a site, their site probably won't even get to #1 anyway as another competitor will probably just claim that position, so all they have done is ruin someones site due to their stupidity and do not have anything to show for it.

I really do not care what the poll says even though people who believe it should change is about double the
people who think it should not. I created this thread in hopes to bring this issue to light and I really do hate seeing people
lose on this pathetic method.

I did not realize W130SN already made a thread similar and from the people who thanked his original post to the support
seen in the poll here and the fact apparently it was banned just sort of banned makes me think I am by far not the minority
on this issue.

No thread in the forum suggestions and feedback area is judged official by a Mod comment. Most threads start and raise
awareness and then they get picked up if the ideas are any good. I would like to know the official stance on the subject
since you have people who say its a banned topic and then you have people who say it isn't.

Additionally I have no hard feelings for people with opposing views I mean some of my best friends on here disagree with
me and hey that's fine by me I just think it is worth the discussion and time to take a look into.

I am a tolerant and openminded person, but I really cant understand why people dont want to get this topic banned. The only explanation is that they want to study negSEO themselves.

THe only "arguments" I read so far in all the neg Seo threads were a) "Dont be hypocritical, most blackhatters do it", which is just bs, and b) "This is a blackhat forum so stuff like this should be allowed", which is also bs because blackhat basicly means to trick g00gle, YT or whatever platform to gain rankings, and not to destroy somebodies business. If negSEO ist ok, what else is also ok? Hacking? Scamming? I mean, would you help a scammer by giving him the opportunity to post here his questions and actually receive some helpful answers from another miserable human being? Where is there difference?

I guess to me it just seems like negative SEO is childsplay compared to what some people here are doing, and I'm not sure why so many are outspoken about it being the absolute devil itself when in reality they'll leave a negative review on someones Fiverr gig themselves in exchange for like $1.00. And for the record if you fucked with me enough I certainly wouldn't count neg SEO out as a retaliation method. I probably wouldn't do it just to gain an edge over a competitor - but definitely for revenge >.<

Just because there are people here that are doing worse stuff doesnt make this any better. In fact, I see rarely threads about people with bad intentions, but almost everyday another neg SEO thread pops up.

Thats just a bold claim. When I discovered BHW, i was surprised by how helpful a lot of people were in such a competetive field with so much money involved. So why do you think that most people here have fucked up ethics?

If you see somebody destroy a business of someone else and you tell them that they are a piece of shit for doing so, then this is not being judgemental or sitting a pedestral because these people must have fucked up ethics investing their time and money to destroy the work of somebody else instead of putting this effort into their own projects. If somebody burns down the store around your corner, would it be judgemental to tell them your opinion about them and try to stop them from continuing?

I say it should be banned. No one likes it because it's a threat to our projects.

some people will argue they don't like a censorship, but bhw isn't about freedom of speech, it's about SEO/IM.

I guess I shouldn't say "most" people - and you completely twisted my words from "most people who point fingers" to "you fuckers at blackhat world" - but from personal experience I've noticed that the most judgmental of us are often also the ones who deserve judgement the most. I'm not justifying it at all. I think it's complete shit, just like the negative fiverr reviews from the thread I linked to. If it's talked about here I think it should be regarding how to protect yourself from it, or recover from an attack - definitely not how to do it lmao.


**Bonus Comment**: Half of the "SEO experts" I've ran into in various online communities are damn near doing negative SEO to themselves due to all the misinformation spread out on the internet about how to "do SEO" (ie; buy 10 billion comment links and point them at your money site using only your primary keyword for anchor text - what the fuck is diversity and quality?? )

I agree that threads on how to do negative seo should not be allowed but threads on how solutions or how to protect yourself from negative seo should be allowed!

personally I think this forum should discuss all blackhat marketing topics, even if they happen to be morally questionable. email spamming, cookie stuffing, craigslist, negative seo.. the list goes on. we shouldn't be censoring any of that info. just my 2c.

All the methods you mentioned does not affect you and me as members or our industry like
negative SEO does. Completely different.

Promoting bad things should not be allowed. Yeah, it's true they exist but I hope the moderators
of this forum will not allow them to use this forum as a venue in spreading the plague!
