Negative SEO against Yelp?

If Yelp keeps filtering out most of your reviews (which are actually legitimate), what do you guys think about buying obvious link network links for Yelp reviews?

At first, I was thinking it'd be great to link to the review itself to generate a bunch of indexed 404's once reviews get filtered. However, reviews don't get dedicated URLs, like with Facebook comments. Instead, they use dedicated URL's for businesses and reviews with arguments at the end (sort of like a UTM parameter).

Do you guys have any suggestions or secret Yelp URL knowledge to make this work?

The other benefit was that negative SEO for that page could make it so that it doesn't appear on our brand's Google SERP. Is that at least worth a shot?

Manta was ranking for one of my brand term at #6. I tried doing all spam linking to that url but they did not move. I started linking using pills and adults words and they jumped from #6 to #2 for my brand term. I think negative seo dont work on established domain

You're right, this is a terrible introductory thread, I probably look like an asshole. I'm a newb in-house SEO who learned about black hat people from nerd-core hip hop, and I just realized I came in here with a lot of false perceptions.

(In hindsight, I also should have done a forum search for "Negative SEO" instead of just searching "Yelp". I got a really bad read on the climate.)

Let me modify my query:

We have very legitimate great ratings on Google Business, BBB, etc. However, Yelp filters out most of our positive reviews, which are organic (to the extent of asking for an honest review). Also, filling the first page of your Google SERP with landing or affiliate pages doesn't convey as much social proof as the positive reviews we get on every other platform.

Effectiveness aside... Although normally douchy, negative SEO seems like it would be reasonable recourse in this instance. Especially if the theories about Yelp extorting people so they use the Yelp PPC platform are true.

If negative SEO is a bad option, I guess the only solution would be promote the other review sites. (This might actually make good case study content, but unfortunately my company doesn't sell digital marketing. Edit: It'd be a great mass social engineering though if someone got this on Moz and everyone started collectively using their authority to boost BBB over Yelp.)

Do some searching around for parasites. You may not be able to beat down yelp, but raise the other sites in your serp.

This is exactly what I was hoping to find.

The idea of investing in parasites even makes me want to start doing affiliate stuff on my off-time. Especially since I now have an adult job and can just buy traffic.
